Photographer’s Note

Few seconds before I saw the man, emerging from behind the corner, I heard him - coughing desperately, trying to spit the sh%& he had in his old lungs, and trying to grab some fresh air in this maze of the old town of Rhodes where the summer temperature hits +40C in mid August...

I had seen this one, but unfortunately TE had done one of its usual stops, and when i was just about to add my critique, it had said: "the page cannot be displayed at the moment". ah, those moments of fury >:(

i want to congratulate you for this refreshing composition about almost nothing, but the feeling, the atmosphere, the "cadrage" is there: a cadrage where all the elements of organic bonds come together to make a surprizingly non-3D, but 2D effect. i say surprizingly, because two perpendicular walls and the perspective between the man's head and the trashbins could create a great depth here. no, it works on the contrary, and i see a superb graphic with 2D effect. those actually organically bound elements now look like irrelevant, individual things with only their own colors, which are also as irrelevant as they could be. i don't know how you could manage this effect, but i suspect the overexposed white wall, which in fact looks like a white border at the lefthand side added by you during pp work.

anyway, i like a lot this very original and inspiring result. i may try it later on.
