From the 2nd Old Vehicle exhibition along the promenade of Lakki, Leros. The event was organized by the Motorcycling Club of Leros for only one evening (August 3, 2014) and attracted lots of local people and visitors.
This is a Fiat 500, I'm not sure whether it's an F (Berlina), 1965-1973 or an L (Lusso), 1968-1972 and I might be wrong at both guesses :) The two Fiat 500 parked side by side got many tender looks at the exhibition.
The Fiat 500 (Italian: Cinquecento, Italian pronunciation: [ˌtʃiŋkweˈtʃɛnto]) is a city car produced by the Italian manufacturer Fiat between 1957 and 1975.
Launched as the Nuova (new) 500 in July 1957, it was a cheap and practical town car. Measuring only 2.97 metres (9 feet 9 inches) long, and originally powered by an appropriately sized 479 cc two-cylinder, air-cooled engine, the 500 redefined the term "small car" and is considered one of the first city cars. [....]
Despite its diminutive size, the 500 proved to be an enormously practical and popular vehicle throughout Europe.

Stunning red Fiat-Cinquecento from the 60th, i remember those when I was a kid and had a ride once with a friend's father.
superb clear photo, with an ancient frame to the photo, created nice ambince also with the lamp-post behind.

The bright red paintwork of this classic car is very eye-catching and begging for a picture to be taken. Well framed and nicely presented. I like the presence of the people in the background.

A big splash of red never hurts any photo. You have presented this charming little car very nicely with a suitable vignetting. The lamp-post fills the upper part of the composition very well, although it is hard for it to compete for attention.

This was a small city car, but we see these today again but in a modern version.
You picture is fantastic with the small red Fiat 500, an exemplar for collectors
Very well composition, nice presentation too.
Excellent done, TFS.

Fine view of this cherry red classic Fiat 500. Even today the similarity to the new ones is obvious, though now they have power windows and air bags.
My first car was a 67 VW Beatle which cost $1,800. It was great for driving to work, college and the beach. I even balanced a surf board on a roof rack.
Thanks for sharing,

Ciao Ourania, mitica, la mia era blu, con mille lire di benzina normale ci si andava avanti una settimana, gran bella rossa fiammante, grazie per avermi riproposto un ricordo della mia ormai lontana giovinezza, brava, ciao Silvio

I can't resist the urge to say "beep beep!" :) An entirely different look and feel from your previous post...the car that is, the location remains the same of course. ha
Small in size, but large in presence with that red color filling up the bottom half of the frame. So, how many clowns actually fit in one of these? :)
I don't know why, but I'm drawn to the people seen through the back window, curious as to what they're seeing, when this little red sporty is the star of the scene. Another lovely low point of view, bringing us right in for an intimate showing.....cozy, just like the car itself. Enjoy the new day. All the best.

Hi Ourania dear

I am not surprised this car got many tender looks, to use a phrase I would not often use, it is as cute as a button :) its hard to imagine many cars having more of a personality that these little bugs.
A girl I work with drives a new one of these, and it actually has eyelashes over the front and back lights. They have retained that cuteness through the years.
And thank you for the note too, we used to have the Fiat Cinquecento as a very popular car in Ireland, I never stopped to think what its name meant.
This is a really fine closeup of this classic European car.
All the best

What a cutie old timer still in tip top condition and I remember seeing them in Singapore in the 60s, and this will be considered Retro after 50 years. Good job - the car is red-the perfect colour it seems, excellent processing it really brings out the detail and the gloss very well.
Nothing like the good old days built to last...
Great capture and tfs

I love cars and I love this picture too!
What a gorgeous shiny little red thing this is and you have captured it perfectly in this fine oblique view and in some soft lovely light which really brings out the colour and the shine so beautifully.
Now, my research tells me that both your "main" car and the blue one beside it are Fiat 500 "L" models - they are distinguished from the more basic "F" models my a more luxurious intereior (which we can't of course see here) and also by the additional "nudge bars" on the front and rear bumpers (which we can see here).
P.S. But did you know, Ourania, that the first Fiat 500 model was produced in 1936, it had its tiny engine at the front (unlike the ones in your photo which have rear mounted engines) and it was generally known not as the "500" but as the "Topolino" (little mouse)! You can see a picture of one here.

npecanhuk (70876) 2014-08-07 3:55
And this is a charming small car!
It's even nicer in red!
A very attractive picture too!
Sharpness, exposure, colors, chosen pov, simple but effective composition are all excellent photo qualities here!
TFS - congrats,

Greetings from Washington, D.C. area. While on vacation, I will be checking in from time to time to catch up with critiques.
Since I am behind in my critique of your photos, I'll jump around a bit. This car, the Fiat 600 and the car that replaced this, the Fiat 126 were my dream cars as I was growing up. The new Fiat 500c cannot match the diminutive looks of this tiny car and they keep bringing forth bigger and bigger versions of them. Similarly, the new Mini is much bigger than the original and keeps on growing. I would much rather drive one of these originals than their modern namesakes.
All that said, thanks for presenting such a thorough photo of this beauty.

Full of unique "retro"charm and soo atmospheric!
I like the way you framed the scene and stronger vignette was also an excellent choice to emphasize the main subject and the mood of the scene.
Have a nice day
