Photographer's Note

A view through Lakki bay, one of the largest and safest harbours in the Mediterranean. It lies on the west of Leros and it's as large as a lagoon but its entrance is only 400m wide. On the right lies the port where a cargo ship is anchored at the moment.

The sailing boats participate in the 2nd Italo-Hellenic Friendship Regatta, organized by the Association with the same name.

The vantage point is on a hill at the brow of the bay, and the boats we see are preparing for the start while a few visiting sailboats are passing through. I watched the race from another elevated point near Cape Katsouni on the right of the entrance.

Thank you for visiting
