Photographer's Note

This "abstract" picture shows the reflection of the old post office of Ayia Marina and part of an adjacent building on the left. Both were built in the first period of the Italian possession of the Dodecanese (1912-1930) when the Italian government and architects wished to combine in the architecture they introduced to the islands local characteristics and a cosmopolitan, Mediterranean style.

The old post office has been renovated but it's an empty building for many decades now. The adjacent building used to serve the port Custom but since the '80s is used by the Theatrical Group of Leros and Radio Leros.
