A view from Crithoni to the windmill of Ayia Marina and the southern promontory of Alinda Bay. I have posted several versions of this point of view, differing only in seasons, colours and boats.
This picture was taken on a dull day and the colours aren't so bright but the boat was one of the most impressive ones in the first weeks of summer.
I posted this picture on Facebook a few days ago and a visitor wrote under it that it reminded him of his childhood and that when they were little, they used to call the long rock on the left "Crete" (due to its shape) :) I thought that was imaginative and lovely.
Thank you for visiting

Basically I have commented on this photo several times before :-), but each picture you take from this same spot always features something new, maybe different plants in the foreground, this time a boat that I didn't see here before. It's always interesting to watch one place throughout the year and marvel at how much difference a slight change of details can make.
Keep them coming :-).

Pleasant picture with the edges of the sea with vegetation and a small boat in arrival.
Fine composition, lovely light and colours, perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness throughout.
Excellent composition, lovely captured.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice day,

A fine composition well suited to the vertical format; the eyes move naturally up the frame from one element to the next. Pleasing diffused light and agreeable natural tones. Very good sharpness.

I beg to differ about the colors, I think they are very nicely saturated and look natural and pretty. Sometimes to much sun can be not that beneficial for the photos and I like these warm tones much more. The POV is very good and it helps to make the composition more complex with the rocks and some grasses in the foreground, through the picturesque windmill and the boat, right up to the small headland on the horizon.
Nicely framed and presented.
Thanks for sharing

J'aime beaucoup ce cadrage vertical qui utilise bien la végétation à l'avant plan pour donner de la profondeur à la composition. Le moulin à vent est superbe et semble diriger la circulation maritime dans la belle baie.

This picture is like the four seasons of Vivaldi, each one is specific to a season. I like the soft pastel colours and your well chosen viewpoint leading to the little buildings on the edge of the water at the foot of the hill. The vertical format suits the image perfectly and the inclusion of the foreground grasses and plants adds depth and perspective in the image. The sunlit white mill makes a fine focal point, too. Well framed and composed.

Told you more than one time and yet again: this place offers many diff. POV's and texture's on diff. days and/or season.
The rock on side's, the "Crete" - looks as a giant crocodile emerging from the water. Funny I noticed this just on this photo.
Good tech.-details, DOF to the far side of the bay is immaculate.

Hello Ourania, What a beautiful capture from a Greek island. I like windmills and I find it rather sdtrange it stands on a small island or promontory. What it was used for? Also nice lighthouse far away.
Nice composition and excellent sharpness.

Beautiful view composed with precision and excellent details all the way up to the houses and the hill in the distance. The clear water with the rocks visible below the surface along with the vegetation make the foreground really attractive. The windmill and the boat are positioned perfectly in the frame and provide nice variety to the picture.
Thanks for sharing and have a nice evening.

Hello Ourania - I am fascinated by the windmill placed thus... and cannot help but ask 'why'? Has the coast changed a lot since it was built I wonder? I seem to remember asking this question before and my fascination remains.
I like the colours here, subtle and quiet they show your home territory in a more gentle mood. I do like the way you have composed this one with the fringe of vegetation stretching up from the lower LHC almost to the top right. Beautifully balanced.

a beautiful summer sight, one my eyes needs to see as it is unsurprisingly training and grey in Ireland. I love those windmills and have since I first learned of them, such an unexpected structure beside the sea! The dark color of the boat makes it look a little like a war ship. Thanks for sharing some sun!

You note just goes to prove a point...no matter the number of times this view may be presented, when it makes a personal connection with someone, you really know you've made an imprint through your vision. :)
Even without the direct association with the locale, I still get just as much pleasure looking over this setting...even if I am thousands of miles away. Pictures have the ability to transcend placement, and I've always appreciated your ability to take us around the island as if we were there ourselves.
A well constructed image which gently leads our eyes from bottom to top, taking the journey along the coastline with ease. Ahhh yes, summer! :) Enjoy the new day. All the best.

Hi Ourania dear
Fine text above. The location of the elements such as wind mill and the boat is very nice and well combined.

Selfing o to self.
