I don't intend any comparison with this photo but thought it was suitable for me to announce an event that's taking place on Leros tomorrow. It's the opening of a photography exhibition titled "Windows of Venice" (my translation of "Venezia alle Finestre"). We'll see Venice through reflections on its windows, in photos by prof. R. Zipoli.
The exhibition has already been presented in Rome, Venice, Teheran, Potsdam and Paris. Its itinerary in Greece started from Rhodes and, after Leros, it will visit Patra, Messini (Kalamata), Nafplion, Volos and Athens (Italian Cultural Institute of Athens, April 2014.)
Each photo will be accompanied by a verse by troubadour Mizra A. Bidel (1644-1720), one of the most important authors in Persian literature, translated by prof. Zipoli, who teaches persian language & literature and photographic production & planning at the University Ca 'Foscari of Venice.
The organization of the exhibition on Leros was undertaken by the Italo-Hellenic Cultural Association of Leros (AIAL).
My photo is just a reflection of "Glaros" (Seagull), the iconic cafe'-restaurant at the harbour of Ayia Marina, in a mild autumn afternoon.
Thank you for visiting

No, this is not "only a reflection". It is a very beautiful one. The tones of the blue and the yeloow are very attractive, and theshape is nice too.

a nice minimal composition here. I like the coloured reflection in the rippled water. The tires used as the buffer for boats(may be) and the torn out canvas is looking nice in reflection with the textures of bricks. A different way to represent the place. Like it. Tfs.

Lucky for you that you are surrounded by water where you could always look for reflections :-). These are nice ones, with the uneven green lines among the yellow. The view of the quay and the two rubber tyres gives us a sense of location.
I will fly to Greece this Saturday (not to Leros) so I won't participate much (if anything at all) for the next couple of weeks.

Love the water reflection shots and this one is really amazing Ourania!
You did an excellent job here!
I like the framing of the scene with very high lead water level. It gives also good reference for the scene and makes it has not completely abstract dimension.
And finally this what attracts the most my attention, namely color scheme of the scene. The blue water contrasts really lovely with other,"warmer"colors reflected in the water surface.
Have a nice evening

I appreciate the texture of the materials on the top of the picture.
You present a very nice gradient from warm colors to the cold blue water. Your picture is well framed.

non sarà Venezia, ma il riflesso è comunque bello, l'acqua è leggermente mossa e crea dei disegni astratti molto piacevoli.
Interessante la nota, mi piacerebbe vedere la mostra.

Another one of those impressionistic paintings of yours. It is very pleasant to look at. I experimented by scrolling up until the pier disappeared, I think I like the result of that experiment. You might want to try cropping the top for a variation.

That sounds like an excellent photo festival, a great idea to show the world through reflections, and especially somewhere like Venice! I like your addition to it here, the building makes the water look like liquid gold. I must try this idea next time I am near the sea!
All the best

Another wonderful display of light, water, colours and the burst of photographic energy as the water wiggles create so much much desired effect turning into a nice natural abstract with excellent sense of reality. A well though out compo with great depth, vibrant colours with fantastic results. My only suggestion imho is, increase a bit more contrast to give the extra punch. A worthy effort and Congrats. Thank you

Magnificent shot of the reflections on the water in the harbour. Love the way the blues and the copper colours merge and also the contrast between them. The harbour wall with the old tyres add a rustic dimension to the shot.

Once again, you are presenting a colorful and aesthetically distorted reflection, this time as an illustration for announcing a very interesting cultural event. Excellent composition, beautiful colors and wonderful curved lines and forms. A very good way of giving information!
