Photographer's Note

A house built in the style of a traditional cottage of Leros. I'm not sure whether it's a new building or a renovated one. It stands on the slope overlooking amphitheatric Vromolithos and has a lovely view, past the islet of Ayia Kyriaki all the way to the coast of Turkey.

Yes Ourania, spring is just around the corner.
The green tone contrast well with the white and blue, under beautiful daylight.

A most unusual house here, I would never have thought this was a house, it kind of looks like an upside down recylign basket :)

I like the way you have used the trees to frame the building but also how the blue window provides a place from which we can imagine looking out between those trees towards the coast of Turkey as you describe in your note. Those two branches that go over the top of the window andalmost meet suggest an oval shape that coudl almost be like an eye with the window a square pupil.

Hello Ourania,
I love the strong contrasts and strong colours of this photo. The very typical Greek building is beautifully seen through a hole in the curtain of intensely green vegetation. The sky is as blue as a Greek sky is supposed to be - and as I have nearly always seen it at the beginning or end of the season. This is a photo that gives me a slightly nostalgic feeling.

This cute white wash country house has added so much to lift this simple shot and contrasts stunningly in the natural surroundings which seems to dominate. Those lush trees provide the natural framing nicely there and so well shaded by deep blue sky. A well managed exposure, clarity and compostion. Well done, TFS.

Καλησπέρα Ουρανία,
Περιμένω την άνοιξη με πολλή ανυπομονησία. Μια υπέροχη νησιώτικη σύνθεση με το άσπρο του τοίχου να ξεπροβάλει από το πράσινο των φυτών. Το μέρος είναι ειδυλλιακό για διακοπές. Μου αρέσει πολύ η ατμόσφαιρα ήρεμη και δελεαστική.
