Photographer's Note

A view to Pandeli and the castle above it from the new paved road/path connecting Pandeli with the next beach along the eastern coast of Leros, Vromolithos. It's a very pleasant walk by the sea with lovely views all along. Pandeli is the main fishing village of the island but has several hotels and restaurants too.

Lovely bold composition, nice lead in and what a great invitation for a Sunday morning walk like this! A brilliant colourful image with stunning effect, but you are smart emphasizing on the dramatic backdrop as it deserves while allowing the eyecatching figs to glide through the winding path into the shot's whole depth. The touch of warm tones is delightful when the light quality is at its best, and the atmosphere is great with some fresh colours especially in the mid-foreground and backdrop. Indeed a grand walk-about by all accounts!! Nicely done, Congrats

This is a superb view of this picturesque fishing village . And also a splendid composition in this square format . We enter in the picture with the children running on the sinuous road (are they going to shool?) . I like the three windmills in the opposite corner , too , and the beautiful vegetation in the FG .

A beautiful and well detailed picture. There's really a lot to look at.
The curving path on the foreground is an excellent lead-in to the view of the village. Even more, the people on the path seem so excited about that view that some of them get really in a hurry to run to the village.
The hills above the splendid whitewashed village are crowned respectively, with a fortress and windmills.
A wonderful balanced picture!

Hi Ourania,
A beautiful town shot, with lots to look at, including the towers on the top of the hill. I love the path leading down by the sea, giving great depth, but the real star for me is how the little children are running down the path, arms outstretched as if they cannot wait to visit this lovely place, themselves. Really nicely done.

Hello Ourania,
This is like the ultimate "beauty of Greece"-picture. Colourful children running merrily along a nicely curving path towards the beach, white flat-roofed houses climbing the hillsides above a Mediterranean bay, windmills on one hill and an old castle on another, sunny weather. And this was early February. Colours, exposure, sharpness are all perfect in this very nicely composed photo.

Hi Ourania. The children are in a hurry- possibly returning from school. They wouldn't be going to school with such enthusiasm! great POV, excellent colours and light. Dramatic combination of white buildings against darker shades of water and vegetation.The eye is drawn from the immediate ground to the middle and then far to the castle and windmills. You're capturing well this place by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the beautiful village in the island. clean bay and a new winding road along the coast. You have caught well the geographical feature of this place with bay, road, village and mountain. It draws out a gentleness for the plants obtained on both sides of the road. And, lovely kids walking and running the road give a special warm atmosphere in this image.

όμορφη σκηνή με τα πιτσιρίκια να περπατούν στο πλακόστρωτο δρομάκι που οδηγεί το μάτι του θεατή στο μικρό λιμανάκι του γραφικού αυτού χωριού.
Μου αρέσει πολύ αυτή η περιοχή με τους μύλους στην κορυφή να είναι το κερασάκι της τούρτας και το κάστρο από την άλλη πλευρά να συμπληρώνουν το όμορφο σκηνικό.

Wonderful view on the kids walk down the paved trail, along the beautiful bay in picture.
White houses and seashore are enchanting landscape as seeing from POV chosen.
Also, one summit above are three old windmills and opposite summit is the (already known) castle - two signs of ancient living in the area.
Well taken an inclusive picture over this location.

Hello Ourania - I can believe that this is a pleasant walk, the views out to sea must be fantastic and this one looking towards the town is so inviting. I like the way you have composed the shot, we see how neatly the town nestles in the valley right up to the beach. In the distance we see the castle and old windmills. J'aime beaucoup la construction de cette image. Le petit chemin sur la gauche pousse le regard au loin vers le village tout blanc qui s'accroche aux flancs de la colline. J'aime beaucoup les moulins à vent au sommet.

A charming shot with the children running happily along the path towards that very picturesque village. I am intrigued by the castle and the windmills that overlook the harbour. Well composed.

I may come to Greece later in the year. I have never been but I have been inspired by many photos of Greece on TE - where would you recommend for someone like me with no knowledge of the places but wanting to take photographs as I do?

An interesting note and a stunning photograph to illustrate it!

Your composition is both pleasing and excellent with all the important features perfectly placed in the frame and with a wonderful "lead in" to the picture by way of the pathway on the left. The inclusion of a group of young people with bright clothing adds to the appeal and the viewer cannot help but follow this little group into the village!
