Photographer's Note

A fishing boat in the harbour of Ayia Marina in a very special winter afternoon with extraordinary colours in the sky. A few minutes before the clouds in the west were pure yellow and when I noticed them I started running downhill to the harbour to have a broader view. By the time I reached the quay they had acquired these colours.
I think this is my star fishing boat, spent a lot of time today too taking pictures of it in the rain.

Wow! Everything comes together for you here the sun giving a magnificent colour to a sky that is perfect to add atmosphere to the scene, the slight ripple of and deep water reflection to give detail, and not least, the colourful boats who cooperated just by being there. Sublime and this gives a feeling of peace and tranquility that is so pleasing. Fine piece of work, Congrats.

Typical winter lateafternoon in the fishery harbour.
Quite dramatic atmosphere, no people around and very impressive atmosphere.
The golden reflections of the sky on lower part of the compo creates a nice effect.

Hello Ourania,
The colours of the sunlit clouds are beautifully reflected in the dark water on the foreground.
The blue and red of the boats also add more life in the already rather dark coastal landscape at the end of a winter day.

Ciao Ourania,la Grecia è una perfetta set per la fotografia con i suoi luminosi villaggi ed i paesaggi marini dalla bellezza incmparabile.
In questa composizione hai unito i colori tenui di un pomeriggio d''inverno con le tinte vivaci dell'imbarcazione in un mix di grande effetto. Una bella composizione che hai saputo completare nel migliore dei modi, inserendo
anche gli splendidi riflessi in primo piano.
Appropriato il taglio verticale che mette in evidenza nuvole e riflessi. Ottima la ripresa dal punto di vista tecnico.

Hello Ourania,
it is true that the nature can be the best artist and provide views which are hard to be forgotten. The clouds and the pinkish light are probably the most eye catching element of this photo, however placing the boat with quite strong colors in the foreground was also very clever. The reflections on the water multiply the whole impression.

Hi Ourania,
The sky does have a very special feeling here, the colour is superb, and the clouds are like little balls of cotton. That boat makes a perfect subject to display against the sky too. Really nicely seen. The backdrop of the mountains is very pleasant.

Hello Ourania,
I am glad you didn't fall when running downhill, otherwise we may not have been treated to this fine photo. The colour of the clouds is lovely and they have produced some very fine reflections as well. The light is still just strong enough to let us see the boats and the distant hillside clearly.

Καλησπέρα Ουρανία,
Τί όμορφα χρώματα είναι αυτά!

Είναι γεγονός ότι αυτές τις μέρες μας έκανε κάτι καιρούς με καταπληκτικό φως (φωτογραφικά) αλλά και γενικότερα κάτι καλούς καιρούς σα να έλεγε "άντε βγες βόλτα επιτέλους!"...

Πέρα από το φως και το χρονισμό της φωτογραφίας, μου αρέσει πολύ η γωνία υπό την οποία τράβηξες το καΐκι και η ισορροπία στις αναλογίες θάλασσα-στεριά-ουρανός στο πλάνο.

Μπράβο και καλή συνέχεια!

όμορφη απογευματινή σκηνή με τις ψαρόβαρκες να είναι στο λιμάνι και εσύ παρ΄ όλη την βροχή, να προσπαθείς για το καλύτερο δυνατό αποτέλεσμα.Εξαιρετικά τα χρώματα τ΄ ουρανού που συμπληρώνονται με τις αντίστοιχες αντανακλάσεις στην επιφάνεια της θάλασσας.

Hi Ourania,
It is amazing what a difference good lighting can make to photograph. The sky and also the boat is nice soft warm light. This shot wouldn’t have been nearly as good if taken under midday sun. Excellent composition with the boat in fronf and excellently lit sky makes this photo very good. The tight crop eliminates distractions and create more attractive image. Well done.
