A view from the playground in Pandeli to the castle of Leros. The settlement below the castle is Christos. Pandeli is a fishermen's village built around one of the eastern coves of the island. Here is also the start of the winding road leading to the castle.

I like the way the playground structure is so colourful and provides contrast with the colours in the rest of the scene. Whilst it provides that contrast it is also similar in shape to the houses in the background so it also blends in at the same time. The castle on the top finishes the journey of the eye through the scene - like a cherry on a cake!

When my two daughters were little , we allways stopped in this kind of place when we were visiting villages . And when I see the playground now , I say that i have to wait for my grand chidren ...
A fine composition , where coloured structures contrast with the white houses . May be , that , these ones will be painted in vivid colors in the future . I've seen this changing in the Canary Islands .

Hello Ourania,
Apart from being very colourful, with a fine foreground, this picture could be said to represent three epochs of life on Leros. The foreground would be the future, or at least a place for those who will hopefully live here and take care of the island for most parts of the 21st century. The mainly white buildings would be the present and the near past, where people live now, and have done so for a long time. On top of the hill is of course the very distant past.
Or I might as well forget about this and just enjoy a nice picture with superb colours and a lot of interesting things to watch.

Hi Outania,
I always enjoy a good castle, and this is a beauty. I love that you includ so much of the town giving brilliant depth, and the structure from the playground that adds a brilliant splash of colour to the scene. If this is the beginning of the road, it looks like a long walk to the castle.

The children playground gave an extra colorful dimenssion to the whole, a view upwards on town and castle.
Gradually, there is a time scale down from the ancient castle to the village and getting to see a modern constructed toys bellow.

I can only admire the relaxed informality that you convey so well here in such an environment which is so absolutely essential for a child's learning and nurturing of his or her intellect. This place is far too good for children and this shot brought back memories I thought I had forgotten where I spent almost every week with my two children at this kind of playgrounds in all that fun whooping with joy and kids all over teh place, and how fast the times passed by. They are now happy mothers with their own young children and everytime I look at this playground reminds me of this natural process that repeats itseft. As for this picture; It's a strong composition with lines and a couple of positive rising verticals and I like how the colors pop against the backdrops tones and this heighten the solid colours. Glad you included as far as that kids and this adds a lot to picture. This is a thoughtful shot and tx for sharing. Congrats

Excelent view to the white town houses and to the castle on the top of hill. The colorful childern sliding structure leads the eye nicelu ti the frame. I also like the cotrast between browm hill and blue sky.

hehehe a view from the kids' castle to a real castle. I like the juxtaposition here and the use of the vertical frame. The colours and depth are very good . THe castle looks to be of Norman origin, very similar to the ones I have seen in Sicily. Is that the case? Thanks for sharing, have a happy weekend.
