Photographer's Note

A boat taking part on the 2nd International Sailing Race in the memory of Finnish historian and author Goran Schildt. The race makes the round of Leros and the picture was taken from mount Markellos (247m) in the south west of the island.

A strikingly simple but very effective composition. I like the way the tip of the sailboat points the diagonal to your top left corner. Lovely contrast between the blue ocean and white sailboat

Le sujet est intéressant, mais je pense qu'il aurait fallu inclure un peu plus d'avant-plan rocheux pour meubler la composition.
Une autre solution si tu avais la possibilité de zoomer un peu plus sur le voilier, bien sûr cette seconde solution est valable en fonction des possibilités de ton matériel.

Since you managed to leave a small piece of mountain on side, we get good scale on the lone boat, looks as a Catamaran to me, on the deep-blue sea.
Marvelous scene from above - tempting to take a jump... no, don't even think about it...

Wonder how you have spotted from high vantage point, the impressive bright yatch heading inland and their stark contrast make them so significant subjects and nicely positioned. There's a sense of movements there, the swell, the wind speed and the timing is just great. Exposure is perfectly balanced and the ripples on the delicious blue water is wonderful that further add to the impact of the minimalist picture with excellent scale ratio. It' s pretty scene indeed. Fine shot, Congrats TFS.

Έχω και εγώ μια παραπλήσια φωτογραφία στο άλμπουμ μου. Σε αυτή την σύνθεση φαίνεται στο μέγεθος της θάλασσας πόσο μικρός είναι ο άνθρωπος. Τα κύματα δίνουν μια τραχεία υφή στο νερό. Και η στερία που φαίνεται κάτω δεξιά αντιτίθεται στο έντονο μπλέ.

J'aime beaucoup ce point de vue qui semble écraser le petit voilier dans la mer d'un bleu magnifique. Le mouvement est parfaitement saisi.

Πάρα πολύ όμορφη η λήψη σου.Όμορφα χρώματα που "μυρίζουν" χειμώνα!Και απο όσο βλέπω έκαναν την εμφάνιση τους και τα "προβατάκια".Εξαιρετική γωνία λήψης και πολύ όμορφες λεπτομέρειες!

avrei solamente tagliato l'immagine in modo da collocare la barca nei due terzi superiori e a sinistra, mi sembra troppo centrale la sua posizione.
Si tratta comunque di uno scatto molto efficace nella sua pur apparente semplicità, con questa bella distesa di blu solcata dalla barca, e con lo spicchio di terra ad indicarci la posizione da cui hai scattato.

This one is an eye-catching simplistic photo - blue sea with a small white sail-boat and white tops of the waves - in such a perfect contrast to each other. Bright brown-orange patch of land in the right front corner is a great touch to the image.

From the thumbnail I thought this could have been the fin of a sharp cutting through the water :)

Incredibly blue water, just beautiful, and you captured the little boat at precisely the right moment to catch the sense of speed and action. Really nicely done!
