Photographer's Note

A yellow house in Ayia Marina. It's an urban house in the style built by the Leriots from Alexandria, Egypt, and used mainly as summer houses.
I had never seen its front door open before. The owners visit it only for a few days in the summer and now it's for sale. It stands by the main road but a little far from its fence and gets noticed only by people who pass by on foot and like to look around.

Complimenti alla tua scelta compositiva di anteporre la cancellata alla facciata gialla della casa che, sebbene molto interessante, probabilmente non avrebbe retto da sola il peso di una composizione interessante, ed hai tratto anche molto profitto da una luce meravigliosa che ti ha permesso di ottenere splendidi colori.

The use of the iron fence is such a great idea as part of the picture and it works fine for it sets a totally diff mood. But the point of interest is beyond on the yellow building and its detail which contrast beautifully with the deep blue sky. Sharpness and clarity are great, wonderful presentation, TFS.

Your viewpoint has created a feeling of isolation and sadness which, from your note, seems to fit so well with the house that no one seems to want any more.
Love the colour and contrast and on this picture alone ,if I ever win the lottery,I would buy the house in a moment.

Hello Ourania - At first I wasn't sure about the gate but looking at your shot in more detail, I think it works well. Peering through the rusty gate we see the beautiful old house in a similar state of disrepair. Rust, peeling paint and a general feeling of abandonment. A pity to see it looking so unloved. Perhaps the new owners will return it to splendour, for a beautiful house it certainly is. fabulous rich colours and a clever shot. Warm regards rosemary

Both of us passed the test of taking photos behind bars...
Nice perspective, not obseccured by the wrought-iron fence, the old house with brown shutters need new painting-job, and the balcony... well I'd not want to stand on, as it looks from street view.
Fine shot, very clear and lightened.

The architecture is typical for he region and can be seen on both sides of the Aegeis.

Αυτά τα παλία τα σπίτια είναι πάντα πολύ ενδιαφέροντα με πολύ μυστικισμό και πολλές λεπτομέρειες απο το παρελθόν. Τι κρύβεται πίσω από την πόρτα κανείς δεν ξέρει. Έντονες αντοθέσεις, υπέροχες λεπτομέρειες και πολύ καλή λήψη του θέματος.

Πολύ έξυπνη η ματιά σου με τα "όρια" που βάζουν τα κάγκελα που απο όσο φαίνεται έχουν περάσει πολλές βροχές απο πάνω τους.Πολύ όμορφα χρώματα στο κτίριο και ιδανική ατμόσφαιρα!

ειλικρινή συγχαρητήρια για την φωτογραφική τελειότητα αυτής της εικόνας, επίσης, χαρακτηρίζεται από μια εξαιρετική δουλειά στο να συμπεριλάβεις και τα κάγκελα. Μια ενδιαφέρουσα φωτογραφία που μας δείχνει την αρχιτεκτονική ομορφιά του αυτό το φανταστικού σπιτιού του παρελθόντος άριστα διατηρημένο . Κάνατε ένα πολύ καλό πλάνο με το πρώτο επίπεδο να προσθέτει και το ένα κομμάτι ουρανού επίσης, Μπράβο!

Hi Ourania. Evocative image of a once grand house that is showing signs of neglect. It looks like the house in Dalmatia in which i was born and which was equally neglected the last time I saw it.Hopefully someone will buy it and give it a new lease of life. Hi Ourania,
You truly have a great talent for capturing these wonderful architectural styles of houses. This is a beautiful, and again new to me design, but very appealing. The house does give off a sense of foreboding, I think perhaps because of the gate, but this all adds great drama and mood to the image.
