Photographer's Note
Kalymnos Town or Pothia is the capital of the Greek island of Kalymnos. Nearly 90% of all inhabitants of Kalymnos live here. The yellow walled town hall (Prefecture Building) is probably the most distinctive building in the harbour.
The harbour is considered to be one of the most important in Greece and has a population of about 1500 residents. Between the neoclassic buildings, you cannot help but notice the distinguished town hall; this was built between 1930-1935 by the Italians to a Venetian theme.

Hello Brian - I like the inclusion of the BG here, one gains a great feel for the way the town is squashed in between the craggy hills and the sea. The town hall makes a super FP with the boats and water ranged before it and your POV lets us see the progression of houses rising up behind. As always, well composed and very attractive colour. Have a pleasant weekend. Rosemary

Ciao Brian,

HI Brian
I would never have guessed in a million years that this building was in Greece!
guess we're so used to seeing white buildings!
I really like the bg with the mountain scape.
another thing that i realize by paying close attention to the architecture is that most of the buildings have a flat rooftop...that NEVER happens here in Canada.
excellent water reflections too, and pin sharpness.
great one.
cheers

Nice seaside shot, neatly divided into thirds - water, town, hills. Great color bursting into the shot from the town itself - the reds in particular are glowing in the sun here. I like the boat as a foreground element - wonderful arrangement!

Technically first class photo with fantastic sharpness and light, excellent colors. I expected the typical Greek colors: white and blue, and here a surprise - an yellow town hall

dear Brian
Laricostruzione total construction in the Dodecanese by the Italians (the Castle beautiful and great for the Knights of Malta in Rhodes) renovated caroprezzo still wonderful.
1912 Italian expelling the Ottomans from Rhodes and the British from Crete and Cyprus.
Excellent image of rare perfection and clarity and note relating to historical reality.

Hello dear Brian
Oooh la la. This is so pretty, so picturesque and beautifully realised. Your Greek shots are usually taken from up high, so this "sea level" shot is both unique and beautiful. The light quality and chromatic rendering are sensational and the photo style reminds me alot of Eric (Loook) and Denis (DTA's) work. And I mean that as a sincere compliment.
Thanks for sharing and I wish you a beautiful Sunday

Très belle photo de cette très jolie ville grecque "coincée" entre la montagne et la mer. La lumière, la beauté des couleurs, le cadrage et la qualité de l'image sont remarquables.

Hello Brian,
And back to your beloved Greek islands!
A gorgeously colourful photograph of this lovely building taken in the most delicious low-angle warm light, the yellow, red and golden colours of the building making a fine backdrop to the colourful boats and also casting fine reflections on the water.
Lovely vibrant colours, perfect exposure and, as always, stunning details and sharpness.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.
