The lighthouse of Heraion Photo

Photographer’s Note

About 80 km from Athens and 25 km from Loutraki, close to the edge of Cape Malagavi, there is a beautiful archaeological site, the Heraion of Perachora, with 2 sanctuaries dedicated to Hera, the Hera Acraea ("of the cape") and the Hera Limenea ("of the harbour").

The location is really picturesque, with a beautiful small, natural harbour, and people swimming surrounded by antiquites !!! (you 'll some photos from there in the near future). Close to the archaeological site you can also visit a beautiful lake, Vouliagmeni, with many great tavernes. Right on the edge of Malagavi Cape, a few hundred meters from the archaeological site, you can see this beautiful lighthouse, "gazing" at the northern coast of Peloponnesus.

What a beautifully blue and clear sky filled with stars! Excellent light management, the light from the lightouse does not overpower the scene at all, just sits there, peacefully drawing attention in this perfect composition! A wonderful blue hour, and perfect exposure. The starry sky adds romance to that beautiful sunset and reflections. Your notes are also very informative, I'll be looking forward to more photos from that site. TFS and congrats Hercules.

Me encanta tanto la composición como el color azul que predomina en esta foto nocturna.
La profundidad y las luces de la ciudad reflejadas en al agua, así como los tonos más cálidos sobre el horizonta dan un entorno muy bueno para el faro y la foto en general.

Hi Hercules
A wonderful blue hour shot. Well composed with the lighthouse to the right of centre enabling the reflections to show. The harbour is amazingly calm although this was a 30 sec shot. I am surprised that the lighthouse light did not blow out. Good light management on your part.

αν και τόσο κοντά από την Αθήνα δεν έχω επισκευθεί αυτόν τον φάρο στο Ηραίο.Εξαιρετική παρουσίαση με την σιλουέτα του φάρου να προβάλλει στο μπλέ του ουρανού.Η μεγάλη έκθεση, δημιούργησε ένα καταπληκτικό ουρανό με το ροζ-πορτοκαλι, να αντανακλά και στην επιφάνεια της θάλασσας.

estas escenas que captas magistralmente en tus fotos son aquellas que me gusta vivir y disfrutar personalmente, son unos momentos únicos.
La vista sobre la ciudad iluminada y sus reflejos sobre el agua, las siluetas del faro y de las montañas en contraluz, y el cielo que pasa del rosa al azul y nos deja ver las estrellas, son elementos que componen una magnífica imagen a la hora azul.
