Photographer’s Note
An interesting way to present ruins in my opinion. This is Messini near Kalamata, the site is under heavy restauration but it looks interesting.
This is the main living area of te site : shrines, theaters. More on the right you can find a great stadium (bigger than Olympia), and other places (fountain/ another theater).
The place itself is surrounded by a giant wall : 14 kms long 6 meter high one tower each 100-200 meter !!! Worth seing also, but my pictures does not deserve them enough.
The city and the walls were built specially to watch the Spartia city with two other cities (I don't remember the names).
I didn't touch this picture, so you can play with cropping if you want.

This is a very nice picture. The colors are very pure, making the ruins stand out clearly. It makes me feel like I am right there, walking among the stones!
