Photographer’s Note

Kalamata Western Beachshore
---------------------------

A little memory from my oldest DSLR Camera a Canon 300D. I was always afraid of this photo, the PP has never satisfied me. C1 Pro never produced warm colors and faithful sand and skies. DPP was so accurate that I could not find something to draw attention, to make me say "Hey, hold on a sec!", I just moved on to the next, something everybody else would do.
Sometimes PP is hit or miss because it is based on the viewer's opinion. This is the case where I made some "extreme" PP testing. I electrified the skies and punched the contrast a bit just to make the eye stop on this. Since this is hit or miss I can accept any PP suggestion, but this is my version and I guess I wanted to make it look like a vivid dream carved in my memory (thus the strong contrast and the almost red sand colors).
What need I say about the day? It was a beautiful August afternoon with no wind and a crystal clear atmosphere. I lied down to my chest with my camera barely touching the sand and my one leg where the waves reached the sand. I guess I can remember 1 or 2 people laughing behind me and soon my wife was the third one!!!

Post processing included:
1. Clone stamp tool to make a swimmer's head disappear
2. Luko's USM
4. Contrast punched enhancements
5. Added border/copyright/title
6. Resizing for TE
7. Another pass of Luko's USM

Please note that it was not my intention to make this look realistic. I could leave it as it was after all!!!

The original is here.

P.S. I want to tell you all how grateful I am for your comments. TE Policy does not permit "excessive thank you replies", so I have to thank you all once and in the description. I wish I could thank you everyone in person.
