Photographer’s Note
-Since we have reached Monemvasia, let’s mention a couple of useful things, as you may have some questions.
-Firstly, the name of Monemvasia. The name comes from a narrow piece of land (“the bridge”), which joins the rock of Monemvasia with the mainland, creating thus one and only entrance to Monemvasia.
-Initially, Monemvasia was called only the castle and the city on the rock and the area before the bridge, while the city is officially called Gefyra; nowadays, the whole area is called Monemvasia.
-You may hear the name Monemvasia stressed on the third or the fourth syllable; they are all correct!

Tour
When you reach the new city, just before the Bridge, you may park your car and have an enjoyable walk on foot.
-Starting from the beginning of the bridge and looking at the rock, on our left, passing by the small street of the kiosk, we proceed towards the beach with pebbles and Kakavos, where you can swim and relax, since there are café – bars just above the beaches.
-On the right side of the bridge, there is the parking place, where events take place during summer. You can see many café and restaurants on your way to the small picturesque port. The grilled octopus smell is pervasive and the ambience is almost always festive.
-When being here, you should not omit buying the marvelous “Amygdaloto” (sweet made of almonds), local wine, pasta but also tasting the delicacies of the area. There are various restaurants, for all tastes.
Keep on walking; you will reach a place with taverns for delicious food, having a view of the Rock of Monvemvasia.

Namaste Georgios,
great way of composing. The road leads our eyes upto the rocks, which is looking beautiful. The emerald colour of water nicely contrast with it and added the soft tone to your photo. Great sharpness and clarity. Great job.
Congrats from India.
Have a nice weekend.

Hola Georgios.
I'm glad that you post a picture of the Island of Monemvasia, right now I'm in Athens in the Crystal Serenity cruiser and tomorrow we are planning to visit this tiny island, our brochure doesn't bring any picture of the island and the price of the tour is US$112 so I will use the free regular shuttles transfer of the ship to visit the island.
Your picture is well captured from a perfect POV, great colors and sharpness. Nice to see how the road take your eyes to the huge rock mountain. Very good perspective. Good WS.
Best regards.

Well conposed image with good use of the perspective of the roadto lead the eye to the rock. It's difficult to imagine how anyone can get to the castle on the top. I think the image just misses sharpness. Maybe you forgot the final sharpening after downsizing.

Hello Georgios,
Framings and point of view are well chosen, the image is balanced. The colors are pleasant. I think that there is perhaps a small lack of clearness. I do not see a difference with the ws #1. I appreciate much the information and councils given in your note to benefit as well as possible from this place. Good work. Cheer.
Have a nice sunday.
Cordially.

Hello Georgios,
I had missed this one and i think it deserves to be commented and appreciated before seeing the most recent ones.
It's a very good and masterly composition with the road giving a fine sense of perspective and the Island seen in all its grandeur. The interesting sky enriches it and makes it very appealing
Well done,
Donato
