Photographer’s Note

Mystras was a Frankish settlement and dates from the 12th to 15th centuries. The setting is amazing and dramatically set on a steep hillside with lots of zigzag paths and stairs.
There are numerous old churches and monasteries (just 1 still occupied) with plenty of ruined houses. We were there on a misty/drizzly day but that didn't spoil the visit. At least the light was even.
Tucked down in one corner is the Monastery of Perivleptos. This photo isn't of the monastery proper but what appeared to be fortifications connected to it.
Scanned from negative.
