Photographer's Note

It seems I'll be going back and forth, inside and outside the rock of Monemvasia. I have already uploaded an external view of the rock in my The Greek Gibraltar photo, but that was from the other (south) side of the bridge that connects the rock with the mainland of Pelopponissos since the 18th century, I think.

This is a view of the rock, from the other side (north) of the 130m long bridge. Until year 370 Monemvasia was connected with Pelloponisos with a natural ground "bridge" but then a huge earthquake, converted the rock to an island.
