Photographer’s Note

The Museum of the Mani region, in Gytheio, occupies the restored 18th-century tower of Tzanet-Bey Grigorakis, the leader of one of the most powerful Maniot clans. The museum is not large, but it has an interesting display of maps of the area, historical documents, drawings, and photographs related to the region's history, customs, architecture, and famous historical figures (Kolokotronis, Mavromichalis, Grigorakis). Unfortunately, I didn't have time to visit it. But I will post some photos of Mani in the following days.

Le musée de la region du Magne, à Gythio, est installé dans la tour restaurée de Tzenet-Bey Grigorakis, leader d’un des clans maniote les plus puissants. Le musée n’est pas grand, mais il montre d’intéressantes cartes de la région, des documents historiques, des dessins et des photographies sur l’histoire de la région, les coutumes, l’architecture et les personnages célèbres (Kolokotronis, Mavromichalis, Grigorakis).
Je n'ai malheureusement pas eu le temps de le visiter, mais je vais poster quelques photos du Magne dans les prochains jours.

Hi Catherine!
Good shot of this interesting building,well composed with these trees at both sides.But what I like most here is the incredible light and the contrast with the dark sky.

Quel ciel !! Il n'est pas belge bien entendu !
Il constitue le clou de cette composition dans laquelles les jeux de lumières et de soleil créent de puissants contrastes.

το πολύ όμορφα φωτισμένο κάστρο σε αντίθεση με τον βαρύ ουρανό, σκιές πάνω στον πύργο και οι παρουσία πρασίνου συνθέτουν πολύ όμορφα το κάδρο σου, συγχαρητήρια για την εξαιρετική διαχείριση του φωτισμού.

Great contrast of light and dark! Rain is coming!

Terrific foreground and background as well as the theme itself! I like very much the huge cactus in front of the museum. There seems to be a strong wind!

La luminosité est fantastique sur ta photo. Le contraste entre le musée et le ciel est superbe. Est ce que ce ont des catus géants qui penchent dangereusement devant le musée ?

Ce ciel est particulièrement impressionnant, d'autant plus que le rayon de soleil venant frapper la façade du musée permet d'obtenir un effet de contraste que tu as parfaitement su capturer.
La composition est bonne, l'arbre sur la gauche équilibrant bien le premier plan avec le bâtiment.
