Just back from a short and impressive trip in the southern Peloponnesus, I will start with some views of Gytheio, taken in the morning, before the storm which hit the whole Greece… A dramatic morning like I love them, with grey sky and strange lights.
Gytheio (Greek, Modern: Γύθειο, Ancient/Katharevousa: Γύθειον) (Meaning: Land of the Gods), also Gythio, Githeio, Githio, Gytheion or Yithion is a town in the prefecture of Laconia in Greece, long known as the seaport of Sparta some 40 km away. Gytheio used to be an important port for many centuries until it was destroyed by an earthquake in 375 AD. Today it is the largest and most important town in Mani. (More on Wikipedia)

About the shot
The photo was taken with my new wide angle lens, which is impressive for the colours and details.
I made a few adjustments in RAW, then a correction of perspective.

Juste de retour d’un court séjour impressionnant au sud du Péloponnèse, je vais commencer par quelques vues de Gytheio, prise le matin, avant la tempête qui a frappé toute la Grèce… Un matin dramatique comme je les aime, avec un ciel lourd et d’étranges lumières.
Gytheio (en grec moderne Γύθειο), transcrite également Gythio, Githeio ou Githio est une ville de Grèce située dans le sud du Péloponnèse dans la préfecture de Laconie. Elle fut longtemps le port de Sparte, située à 40 km au nord.
Gytheio était un important port durant des siècles avant sa destruction par un tremblement de terre en 375 av.J.C. C'est la plus importante ville de la péninsule du Magne.

La photo a été prise avec mon nouveau grand angle, qui est impressionnant pour les couleurs et les détails.
J’ai fait quelques réglages en RAW, puis une correction de perspective.
