Photographer’s Note

Lake Stymphalia is located in the north-eastern part of the Peloponnese, in the Korinthia prefecture. It is a Wetlands area, a popular farming area. Usually this area around the lake is fairly dry underfoot. The area is rich in birds, amphibians and plant life.

The area is also mentioned in Greek Mythology, due to the Stymphalian birds, which infested the Arcadian woods near the lake. Heracles' 6th labour was to exterminate them.

Nowdays the lake is almost out of water due to the dry weather of the last 2 years and the land is used by the local farmers.
