A view from Acro Corinth, the acropolis overlooking Corinth and the Gulf of Corinth. This is a Byzantine fortress that is accessible only by a windy mountain road. Below, tourist busses deposit many at the agora of Ancient Corinth. However, busses cannot seem to climb the mountain. I observed very few tourists up here! Incredibly, from some sites of the castle, you are actually looking down on other mountains. The view is breath taking.

PP: Levels, Seperate curves layers for foreground and background, saturation +6, coulour balance +7 blue.

Hi Josh, the view from this place is incredible. I like the outpost being in focus and the blurred crop scenery far away. Very Good DoF and depth of field in this picture. Nice job!

Roberto

I like this shot very much. You have composed it very well with the fortress tower in one corner, superbly lit and extremely sharp. The subdued colour and haziness of the surrounding countryside reinforces the summer warmth. The detail on the fortress is great, but it's a pity you couldn't or didn't get a little better focus on the grasses in the foreground - although some viewers will not find that a problem. Overall, however, a breathtaking scene and good notes.

Andrew

Hi John,
Very interesting point of view, with the well captured fortress ruins. It's pity that the yellowish plants in the front obstruct the view. In general you maintained fine composition with one close object and the blurred fields in the background.

I like a lot the atmosphere that is carried by this picture. The hazy fields in the background together this sharp ruin in the foreground is very nice. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful image and landscape, well done.
I like the perfect focusing on the tower, making me notice the material it's made of.
Colour saturation is good, great job!

Hi Josh,
Nice ruin with a great view. I wish I could see more of the fortress -- maybe you can post another image?

Josh hi,great view on one of the most impressing castles in Greece.Actually Akrokorinthos is the most extended castle in Greece, builded by the Franks upon the ruins of an ancient citadel, the commonest tecnique for that age.

Josh,

Very good shot. The fortress is sharp against the slightly softer focus on the background, which increased the sense of depth in the image. Unsure whether the foreground plants at bottom right really improve the image? I like also that we can see the detail in the landscape in background.

Thank you!

Hi Josh,
Beautiful three level scene. Focus is correctly on the main point of interest. Background gives a clear idea of how high the place is. And hay provides some natural framing.
Kari

I think this is very good Josh, and I like how your elevated viewpoint has enabled you to use the fields as a backdrop to the fortress without the inclusion of the sky.
I also like the effect of peering through the long grass in the foreground.
I think this would have been even better if you could have thrown the fields out of focus a bit more by using a wider aperture, but I imagine that F5.3 is just about as wide as the Coolpix goes at the tele end of it's zoom.
Good work.
Ben

Hi Josh
What a spectacular view. The contrast between the acropolis and the landscape is excellently drawn out. Good detail and crispness of image in the foreground and a great view.
Aubrey

I'm getting scared of heights just looking at this. Nicely composed and good bookeh.

Thanks,

Don

amazing view of the fields below and the outpost in vivid details. breath-taking scenery!
