Photographer’s Note
The history of this famous monastery originally begins before 1769. (There were no records kept on the exact development of this monastery before this date. We get this first date by the signature of a monk, next to some records written on a plaque hanging on the wall of one of the rooms in the Monastery.) The miracle of it's existence began one evening as a few sheepherders witnessed a bright glow shining from a distant mountain cliff. At first they though the light was perhaps a figment of their imagination, yet for the next few nights the light kept appearing, and they knew it was impossible for any human being to be able to physically sit or climb up that rough and rocky cliff.more

Γεια σου Βασίλη
βλέπω πέρασες ξυστά από τα μέρη μου (Λακωνία), όμορφα χρώματα και έξυπνη συνθεση με τα κλαριά των δένδρων σε πρώτο πλάνο.

Hello dear Vasilis,
this is a very impressive place, an incredible position for this monastery, great colours of the rocks and of the vegetation in a perfect and amazing contrast with the blue sky.
Congratulation for the very interesting notes too.

Hello Vasilis,
I've never heard of this place and monastery but it certainly looks very attractive, even impressive.
The white buildings stand out nice against the redbrown cliffs. Well composed with the leaves on the foreground.
Best regards, Paul

Hello
I was in Kosmas in 1998- It was rain and chill then.
Totally different atmospherics. Very good shot, alive colours, amazing monastery and red rocks.
Best regards

Hello Vasilis,
What a beautiful place this rock monastery is! You have captured it perfectly well, with nice foreground, multicolored rocks and so blue sky. Unfortunately the sky in my shots is not always as blue as in yours. This means that climate in Greece is much better than here in Ukraine. But the best of all are shots from Greece. This one is not exclusion.
Best regards,
Sergiy
