Photographer’s Note

Counting the steps on the exchausting ascension from the town of Nafplio to the top of Palamidi castle. You can go all the way around with the car and enter the castle from the other side, but when I was there the doors were closing around 3 o'clock in the afternoon. I wanted to take some sunset photos and some nightshots, so, with the doors closed I had to walk up there.

At the point where I took this photo, a few hundreds steps remaind, till the last one, number 999! It was tiresome, but when I reached to the top the view was very rewarding, really spectacular, especially with those clouds in the sky!

A great point of view, looking up into the clouds. The saturation of colours works well here.

great one, like this uphill view and almost that lovely sky above the castle..

Hello Hercules!
For those who love traveling and taking pictures, no phisical effort is enought to prevent them from getting to where they want to! That's what it means your picture... counting the steps, tired, sweating, but keeping on going up so you can reach your final destination!
Before that, you took this picture, maybe halfway to the top, and it was a very good idea because the visual impact of it is also pretty impressive! Both the Castle and the sky are so attractive and wonderful!

Τελικά όσο πιο χαμηλά είσαι, τόσο πιο πολύ μεγαλειώδη φαντάζουν όσα σε ξεπερνούν!
‘Σοροπιαστά’ είναι τα χρώματα και καθαρές οι λεπτομέρειες! Η προοπτική ενθουσιώδης με στόχο τον υπέροχο ουρανό μέσα από ένα περίτεχνο πέτρινο παραπέτασμα!

After reading your note I understood the counting, I would had counted as well. It looks like that the steep climb was worth it. The clouds are funny, like in marching order towards the sun. Colors, Sharpness and DOF are fine. In particular I like the contrasts of the sky against the castle. Well done

Hi Hercules, the word WOW is too often used on this website, but for this particular photo, should be used without and problem whatsoever. The POV is excellent, you have got so low and so close it's amazing - and that amazing cloudy sky, you couldn;t have asked for a better weather conditions. Que gran perspectiva... yo diria ascension a los cielos, pues asi se ve desde abajo, magnifico colorido y calidad suprema, las nubes parecen como si hubiesen explosionado en todo lo alto. Un soberbio POV.
