Photographer’s Note

Long time has passed since my last "Greek" photo, so here's one for a change.

Here you can see part of the old town of Nafplio, a photo taken from the walls of Palamidi castle. You can also see some of the 999 stairs on the road that connects the town with the castle.

On the edge of the small peninsula, you can probably see some of the walls of Akronafplia, the second castle of the town. On that islet in the gulf, you can see Bourtzi, the third castle of Nafplio, a beautiful picturesque town, ideal for romantic escapes, about 150 km from Athens, but also a town with great history. Nafplio was the first capital of the New Greek State, right after the liberation of the country from the Ottoman Empire.
