Sitting daydreaming about my holiday for this year and going back to Samos or maybe Leros this year and cannot wait.
This fine monastery is located in the village of Phythagorio, in the southern part of the island.
Its name means the Monastery of the Virgin of the Grotto.
It is located two kilometers Southeast of the village of Koumaradei and on the side of the road that leads to Miloi, in a very nice environment with an altitude of 225 meters. It has a lovely view of the plain of Chora, Pythagorio and the Asia Minor coast (the mountain of Mikali). It was founded in 1586 the monks (and brothers as well) Neilos and Dionysios and it is dedicated to the Assumption. It has to show a very nice woodcut temple, some frescoes and a lot of holy ware.

une très belle composition, j'aime bien la perspective qui conduit le regard sur le très joli clocher.
Bonne insertion des deux personnes.

I'm very glad you're considering visiting Leros this year! You surely liked Samos and photographed with interest and care various settings and aspects of daily life there. I like very much this picture, a solid composition of geometrical patterns and perspectives with strong chromatic and lighting contrasts. The atmosphere both in the sunny area and in the shade is delightful, the blue backdrop introduces a fine calmness. A nice and inviting place. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,

A beautiful photo without artifice and with beautiful natural color.
Good point, well made.

What with the awful weather which we have been experiencing here at the beginning of the year, who could blame you for dreaming of forthcoming summer holidays? I suspect a lot of us are doing something similar.
And you are teasing us by showing us this idyllic place lit in glorious sunshine - what better than to relax on one of those seats or walk up to the railings beside that couple and enjoy the view across the beautiful sea?
A lovely strong composition with the lines of the tables, seats and buildings leading the eye into the distance and with the tall bellrower perfectly placed in the frame. Lovely light and colours, perfect exposure and exquisite depth of field and sharpness.
