Seychelles Beach

This is one of Ikaria island's most intriguing and beautiful beaches, and closely guarded by the villagers of the nearby village of Manganitis who would prefer to keep it their secret and for good reason. The pebble-rock beach is located within a picturesque and intimate cove setting. There are interesting rock formations all around and the color of the crystal clear water is unmatched. Seychelles Beach is located just after the tunnel that leads into the village of Manganitis. The access to the beach is via a path which starts on the main road and descends along a river bed. The path is of medium difficulty and steep towards the end. (Island Ikaria) The name Seychelles come from a Greek song of the eighties.

Σεϊχέλες στην Ικαρία

Το χρώμα της θάλασσας είναι παραισθησιογόνο. Αλλά για να φτάσεις ως εδώ, θα αναζητήσεις το κατάλληλο πέρασμα ανάμεσα από τα μεγάλα λευκά βράχια που υψώνονται πίσω από την παραλία. Όχι και τόσο ευχάριστο, αν έχεις ακροφοβία. (Οι top παραλίες)

Παραλία που έχει δημιουργηθεί τεχνητά από άμμο που εξήχθηκε κατά τη διάνηξη του τούνελ του Μαγγανίτη. Έχει πάρει το όνομά της από τους κάτοικους του χωριού, λόγω της άμμου της, αλλά και όπως λένε οι ντόπιοι, λόγω του τραγουδιού που λέγαν οι πρώτοι της επισκέπτες, "πάμε για τρέλες στις Σεϊχέλες".
Το Καλοκαίρι σε αυτή την παραλία γίνονται πολύ συχνά πάρτυ και μαζεύουν νεολαία από όλο το νησί. (Nikaria.gr)

La plage des Seychelles, Ikaria

C’est probablement la plage la plus attirante de l’île d’Ikaria. Située non loin du village de Manganitis, elle n’est pas visible depuis la route. On y accède par un chemin difficile qui descend le long d’un ravin, juste après le tunnel qui mène au village. Mais le spectacle de ses eaux turquoises et de ses rochers blancs en vaut bien la peine ! Et le nom Seychelles ? Cela vient d’une chanson des années 80.

you are right, it seems a paradise, I hope that paradise could be like this place.
Colours are superb, the POV is really perfect, and the clarity too.
An excellent composition from Ikaria.

salut catherine
une plage idylique qui nous donnent envie de partir en vacances, bientot, la couleur de l'eau fait rêver, le POV en plongée est bien vu avec ce gros rocher qui donne de la profondeur au cadrage, mais je ne suis pas trop pour ce fond sombre, question de gout

Bonjour Catherine,
Difficile de résister à de telles couleurs!
La transparence de l'eau est incroyable, quelle récompense que de découvrir un tel endroit après la descente!
La vue est sublime, surtout l'avant-plan, baigné de lumière. Personnellement, l'arrière-plan me plaît un tout petit peu moins, je le trouve un rien trop sombre.
Il n'empêche que l'ensemble est paradisiaque!

A very good composition of this deserving place. You exploited very well the line of that beautiful rock at the right and left only 1/3 of the photogram to the sky. The use of polarizer filter here did a splendid job enhancing the transparency of the water and it's fine intense colour.
Quite a peculiar place and atmosphere.
