SAMOS ISLAND

The village of Ano Vathi is situated in the northeast of the island of Samos, above the capital of the island of Samos which is called Vathi or just "Samos". If you drive in from the south (Pythagorion) in the direction of Samos Town you arrive at a at a fork in the road next to a large church. One side (the left) goes down towards the port (the exit that is marked as "Samos"), the other side on the right (two narrower roads) lead to Ano Vathi. In 2010 we gave Ano Vathi another chance and we went deeper into the village. Ano Vathi is created in the 17th century when the inhabitants moved away from the coast because of pirate attacks. The streets are narrow and steep and some of the (mostly small) traditional, old houses have hanging bay windows in a Venetian style.

Hello Costantino,
This old house with character, deserves to be restored and inhabited. I like to imagine that generations of hardworking people have succeeded here. A photo nicely framed. The light, colors and sharpness are excellent. Bravo.

Ένα παλιό σπίτι με πολλή μυστήριο και παρελθόν. Με δελεάζει η ιδέα να μπω και να το εξερευνήσω. Τα φυτά έχουν τυλιχτεί σαν σάλι απο το σπίτι και δημιουργούν μια υπέροχη σύνθεση με τον ήλιο να φωτίζει κάθε γωνία του.

This old looking srtone house has a nice rustic abandoned look to it and there's sure a lot of clutter. Brilliant attention to details, lighting and colour contrast with interest aplenty. Excellent rendering of this still life capture, but the window openings and the green growth offers another dimension to expolore deeper while the red flowers make alot of different to the shot. A fine photo work, TFS
