Full moon over Mytilene's castle Photo

Photographer’s Note

I was in a great hurry, trying to be on time, to catch the boat that would take me away from Lesvos island, but when I saw this, I couldn't resist and stopped my car to take the photo. Here you see the medieval castle of Mytilene town, and the "back" seaside road, with some of the best taverns of the island. The main port and the main part of the town, lie on the "back" of the castle.

Very nice view, really worth stopping. You managed to capture the full moon in the right spot. Good white balance and exposure.
I think the photo could benefit from some blur applied to the right side of the sky. I don't like the circles that formed in the sky around the moon. Maybe it's a good idea to apply some post processing to make it more smooth.

C'est évidemment la version large qui permet d'apprécier la finesse des détails et la délicatesse des couleurs de cette très agréable publication dans laquelle la composition n'est pas en reste avec l'utilisation judicieuse de la réflexion multicolore.

This is a great blue hour shot with excellent blending of natural and artificial lighting. The colors are great and the shot is sharp and clear. Your composition is fine with the streaks of light reflecting in the water which lead the eye into the shot nicely.

otra excelente toma a la hora azul con la que vuelves a demostrarnos tu maestría técnica y tu elegancia en este tipo de fotos.
Me encanta este ambiente que has captado en la imagen, la explosión de luz y de vida que se nota en este puerto, con sus terrazas y restaurantes, la belleza de la arquitectura y del castillo, y el cielo con la luna brillante.

PS 1: Tus fotografias ya me convencieron

PS 2: La fotografía que acabaste de comentar, la tuve que bajar y volver a subir ya que la calidad no era la mejor--asi que le hice unos cambios.

Μια ακομη αψογη νυχτερινη φωτογραφια!Το παλιο καστρο της Μυτιληνης "εγραψε" ωραια,το ιδιο και τα χρωματα των αντανακλασεων στη θαλασσα.Η πανσεληνος ειναι μια "λεπτομερεια" που απογειωνει την φωτογραφια.

Γεια σου Ηρακλη.Ακομη μια απιθανη συνθεση με διαφορετικα χρωματικα επιπεδα φωτος τα οποια φωτιζουν και διαφορετικες ιστορικες εποχες,λευκο για το παρελθον πορτοκαλι για το παρον,αντανακλασεις και φεγγαρι βαζουν τις τελευταιες πινελιες στην τοσο πλουσια σε ολους τους τομεις συνθεση σου.Συγχαρητηρια για ακομη μια φορα.

Tu consigues muy buen resultado con la exposición de f/8, yo no he podido tener tan buen éxito como tu, he tratado varias veces, pero he tenido que bajarla para conseguir mejor iluminacion. Tu foto esta muy buena y la presencia de la luna es una excelente adición. La versión grande nos produce muy buenos detalles de tan precioso lugar.

one of the best night picture I've seen on TE lately. The atmosphere is magical like from another planet. The way you framed it, the moon, the magnificient colours of the sky and the smooth look created with 15 secs are absolutely gorgeous.

Wonderfull show! The old harbour is the most interesting part of Mytilini, in my opinion. I had the plan to see the full moon on begin April there, but the wheather was not very good and the wind quite strong on that days. That's why I'm happy to see your photo which is perfect! Filika,
