The Castle of Myrina in Lemnos Greece: The impressive Castle of Myrina is a Byzantine fortification positioned on the highest point above Myrina Town, the capital of Lemnos island. The construction of this castle was commanded in 1186 AD by the Byzantine emperor Andronicus Komnenos, on the site of an earlier ancient fortification. The constrcution of the castle was continued by the Venetians in the 13th century, when they consquered the island. The Castle of Myrina took its present form in 1207-1214, by the Venetian Filocalo Navigajiosi, the Great Duke of Lemnos.

Ωραία η θέα από εκεί ψηλά, πραγματικά!
Μας ταξίδεψες πάλι και σε ευχαριστούμε γι αυτό πάρα πολύ!
Η Λήμνος είναι ένας όχι και τόσο τουριστικός προορισμός αλλά δεν παύει να είναι κομμάτι πολύτιμο της Ελλάδας, σοφά επιλεγμένος από εκείνους που αναζητούν κάτι το διαφορετικό.
Η φωτογραφία σου διακρίνεται για την σωστή διαχείριση φωτός, καλής επιλογής κάδρου, εξαιρετικού βάθους πεδίου και προοπτικής!

A most marvelous view over the hill, down to the beautiful bay.
The castle gave a fine perspective and scale on the image. Also, town houses along the curving coastline, boats and long promende are in excelet clarity.

your viewpoint here is wonderful looking down and over the town. the sunlight is superb as it illuminates the whole of the harbour beautifully. an excellent composition with a wonderful depth of field.
