Agiasos (Αγιάσος) is a traditional village, located at the slopes of the imposing mountain Olympos (968m), at a height of 475 meters, 26km from Mytilene. The tiled-roof houses are lined by ranks in the narrow stone streets. Agiassos is a religious and intellectual center of the island of Lesvos, with a great library, a theatre hall, as well as a folklore museum. The municipality of Agiassos has around 3000 inhabitants. They vote in their majority for the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), which lead the municipality.

Agiasos (Αγιάσος) est un village traditionnel, situé sur les flancs de l’imposant mont Olympos (968 m), situé à 475 mètres d’altitude, à 26 km de Mytilène. Les maisons aux toits de tuile rouge sont rangés le long de ruelles étroites pavées. Agiassos est un centre religieux et intellectuel de l’île de Lesbos, avec une importante bibliothèque, un centre culturel et un musée du folklore. La municipalité d’Agiassos compte environ 3000 habitants. Ils votent en majorité depuis des générations pour le Parti communiste de Grèce (KKE), qui dirige la municipalité.
