Photographer’s Note
The promenade of Thessaloniki is a delight, especially at sunset time.
You can see, like in the photo, a distant ship, a passing biker, an umbrella on the air.
There are quite a few additional attractions.
And yet, there are plans for a "facelift". The new waterfront will feature a wooden promenade deck, water-inspired constructions and a 2.5km-long pine tree alley stretching from the Concert Hall building to the Public Power Corporation (PPC) building.
The project will also include park benches along the waterfront, new street lighting and 14 theme parks.
And thanks to all the members that posted this place in the past.

Funny composition, Daniel. I know this umbrella is part of a kind of mobile sculpture but the idea to frame only one, makes it stand out strongly in the sunset, as if it was flying... The silhouette of the biker agreeably balances the image. The colors are beautiful. Magic in every moment!...

Daniel hi!
Yes, the "Plan" looks like that.. the question is when?
In 2056?????
Greeks are so silly with their planning, nothing really fits in time. I am Greek so I can say it :-D
Lovely moment you captured; I like the way you have composed your photo again.
Take care, shalom

Hello Daniel
You've created a funny composition.
Very good idea to isolate only one umbrella to get this graceful effect.
The vertical format is impeccably balanced and you've waited for the right moment to have the cyclist in the perfect place.
Obviously, colours are marvelous and give a kind of magical mood.
Excellent work.

Superb pair for the 'Flying Bucket'. Some 'Mary Poppins' magic included with purple light and your signature cyclist. This is art.

you waited for the right moment to capture the cyclist.
the crop on the umbrella's left is OK, you can also clone out or crop out the piece of metal on the top of the umbrella.
cheers

Shalom, Daniel -
Great timing and positioning - all the elements balance each other. Patience pays off!
It would be nice to know what is holding the umbrella up. I gather it's part of a sculpture that's out of view to the left, right?
Best,
Dan

Very clever. It's all in the eye and what each individual sees for composition. The color is great. I've enjoyed looking at your photos.

Hi Daniel,
I like the creative and artistic touch that you have given to your composition. The umbrella "floating" in the air, over the passing cyclist, and the sight of the sea and the sky with the wonderful tones of the sunset, they create a really splendid and attractive image.
An excellent work.
Friendly regards,
Josep

Hi Daniel
When I first saw a picture from this place (I think Hercules's), I was perplexed. Now that I know the perplexity doesn't exist any more, and in fact now I can savour the picture better. Fine timing to have the cyclist & the umbrella in opposition, against the pastel pink sky. Fine timing for this good work!

Hello Daniel,
It's a clever way to present the scene, shooting/cropping just enough of it to suggest the umbrella has been swept up by a guest of wind... then to avoid explaining that it is part of a mobile. Until I noticed the mention of the mobile by another reviewer, I wondered if you had used photoshop and cut and pasted it into the scene. In an ancient photo, long before digital photography and Photoshop existed, I had produced and image that might be of interest to you, called Bubble About to Burst. See if you can figure out how it came to pass before you read the note.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Hello Daniel
Amazing photo, I love the soft light of dusk and the silhouette of the bicyclist, and of course the umbrella, it makes this photo original. Good work!
