The Monastery of the Vlatades, also Moni Vlatadon, is a Holy Royal Patriarchal Stavropegic Monastery of the Church of Constantinople located in Thessalonica, Greece. At its founding in the fourteenth century the monastery was known as the Monastery of the Pantocrator. Tradition places the monastery at the site where Apostle Paul preached during his second missionary journey during the year 51.

Hi Nikos. Very evocative composition- one can sense the passing of centuries and generations of the faithful who came to pray and light candles, as they still do. Great light/warmth. Regards. Klaudio.

a good picture with the sharp icon (should be sharper by reducing the aperture) and the lit candles in the background.

beautiful composition, real and so hot colors! Only one complaint - the focus is on the frame of the icon - pity!
