Photographer's Note

The Gates was a site-specific work of art by Bulgarian artist Christo Yavacheff and French artist Jeanne-Claude, known jointly as Christo and Jeanne-Claude. The artists installed 7,503 vinyl "gates" along 23 miles (37 km) of pathways in Central Park in New York City. From each gate hung a panel of deep saffron-colored nylon fabric. The exhibit ran from February 12, 2005 through February 27, 2005.
The books and other memorabilia distributed by Christo and Jeanne-Claude refer to the project as The Gates, Central Park, New York, 1979–2005 in reference to the time that passed from the artists' initial proposal until they were able to go ahead with it.
The Gates were greeted with mixed reactions. Some people loved them for brightening the bleak winter landscape and encouraging late-night pedestrian traffic in Central Park; others hated them, accusing them of defacing the landscape. Some cyclists saw them as an obstruction which could cause accidents[citation needed], although cycling is not legal on those paths. They received a great deal of their nationwide fame as a frequent object of ridicule by David Letterman as well as Keith Olbermann, whose apartment was nearby.

Bonjour Maria,

Un beau cadrage vertical qui nous offre une belle perspective sur ce cadre sans porte. La plongée est très sévère et le feuillage vert offre une belle atmosphère.

oltre al simpatico soggetto c'è alle spalle una sapiente costruzione della scena ed un formato che si addice perfettamente a questo tipo di scena.
Sono molto belli i colori e la luce, con quel verde che fa sfondo.

This wooden gate has yet another purpose: to protect the passing strollers bump with the branchs above, although you told it's an art detail.
Lovely shot within the forest, excelent light and view the green area around.

Μαρία γεια σου,
ώστε επισκεύθηκες τα Λουτρά Πόζαρ,φαντάζομαι να ήταν μια εξαιρετική εμπειρία.Σχεδίαζα να πάω εκεί τον Φεβρουάριο αλλά μου τα χάλασε το πολύ χιόνι που είχε πέσει την εποχή εκείνη.
Το δρομάκι με την αυτοσχέδια ξύλινη πύλη που οδηγεί στην κοίτη του ποταμού είναι σαν να οδηγεί σ΄ ένα άλλο κόσμο.

The stony pathway and the door and barricades made from wood logs give a nice a impression of what the two artists may have wanted to depict as an art form.A little deviation from the mainstream ideas but still very much commendable.I like your point of view and your inner feelings are very much reflected in this shot to honour the ideas and concept of the artists.TFS.

Well chosen vertical format for this very good composed photo. The stone stairs are nicely leading into the picture. There is nice color contrast between the brighter foreground and darker green foliage. The DOF and viewpoint is perfect. Well done.

πολύ καλή οπτική γωνία και σύνθεση που μας βάζουν πάνω στο πέτρινο μονοπάτι το οποίο οδηγεί σε ένα άλλο επίπεδο του δάσους. Η αυτοσχέδια πύλη εκτός από γραφικότητα αποκτά και σημασία χάρη στο θαυμάσιο βάθος, την προοπτική και την ευκρίνεια της εικόνας. Μου αρέσουν πάρα πολύ τα φυσικά χρώματα και η ήρεμη και δροσερή ατμόσφαιρα που απέδωσες πιστά. Συγχαρητήρια και ευχαριστώ!

if I understood well this arch was part of the structure created by the artist, when the work was removed remains this..it is this ?
nice framing. I liked the position of these elements and the fabulous indirect light you got here.
