Photographer’s Note
The 500 km bus trip from Thessaloniki to Igouminetsa travelled through amazingly beautiful country and was totally frustrating because photographs were essentially impossible. I've tried really hard to remove the green tint added by the windows, but the quality is still very poor. Next time, I'd drive even though it would take us a LOT longer, one could easily spend a week in the beautiful mountains of Northern Greece. I posted this one as some kind of recognition of this lovely area. In the WS, is a moving bus picture of Ioanina, a place that was particularly enticing.
This was the only place we were allowed out of the bus. Being a skier, I was interested to find out more about skiing in Greece. Clearly there are much larger ski resorts in Greece.

Greece is certainly not the first place that comes sto mind when thinking of skiing. It doesn't look like a major ski centre. All the diagonal lines carry the eye from above down to the shelter. The sky looks ominous.

Hi Pat,
It looks funny at first with no snow around. The colors are really vibrant, esp. the green. I like how you framed it tightly on the edges. Technically excellent. Regards,

Hello Pat,
nice the view of this ski center, but as i see in the whole region there is not snow. The reason i think is the late Spring season(May 21).Generally in Greece is not looks like a major ski center as the equivalents in Central and North Europe .I like the saturated green colour of the Mt.slope as the workshop to from Ioaninna city.Very informative your note too.
Kindly regards,Danos

Pat, if I haven't read your note I wouldn't know that these pictures (WS too) were taken through a bus window. They are both colorful and with an excellent POV! Thank you for sharing! Regards Stella

Hi Pat,
Despite that sky, you achieved a beautiful pictures, with those strong green and red/orange colors.
Interesting, the sign is "ski school" in Greek, but "ski club" in English. It seems the foreigners who come here don't need ski lessons.
The Ioanina photo is also interesting, despite the difficult conditions. It recalls me Northern Norway fjords, including the weather.

Amazing, does not look like a sky resort. If it was not for the name plate I would think it was a farm barn in the mountains. Having done myself some bus trips I can fully understand your frustration. Your pp work is very good and even the WS I do not think it is that bad. I really like it too. Well done.

Hello Pat,
I could only imagine that this would be a fun place during ski season. But honestly I never thought of Greece to be a ski country. Well clueless me probably is wrong. The cloudy condition certainly enhanced the color saturation beautifully. The Ionina WS looks good enough to be worthy of individual posting. Best regards, Danilo

Hi Pat,
One does not think of this part of Greece with its wonderful lakes and mountains. You have captured this lovely little ski club in fine details and color. In case your not familar there is a Treker from northern Greece that has some very lovely photos of this region by the name of evanrizo.

Hi Pat,
From a ski enthusiast point of view this image looks pretty pathetic ! But from a TE fun point of view id made me smile and actualy I like it, including its exotism from the greek script.

hello, pat
what i really like about this photo is the fresh green. this tone of green always attracts my attention. i am surprised you managed green this bright with a circular polarizer on. whenever i try that, the green comes out way too dark...
a place with a mood: ski club with no snow around... :)

Hello Pat -
Skiing in Greece - isn't that an oxymoron? I am amazed that there are mountains high enough to gather enough snow to warrant a ski resort. By the looks of it it does look at bit iffy. It looks like you got most of the green out with only the grass appearing to be a bit over saturated. If you want, send me a copy of the tinted image and I will see if I can neutralize for you.
Thank you for sharing.

Some very beautiful colors put forward by a superb cloudy and gray sky. A simple and natural landscape as I like. Cheer.

Hi Pat
I had know idea that there's possibility of skiing in Greece. The diagonals of the slopes lead right upto the log cabin. It does look damp & moist..looks like it rained here sometime before, also going by the sky...
Best Regards

Pat,
this is certainly not the type of shot that I would expect from Greece. The contrast of the ski lift and the luxious green really makes sense here. What a pity that the sky was so dull and forced you to almost underexpose the foreground. Ideal moment to get out of the bag a ND grad filter.
