Photographer’s Note
Sunset over the ancient marble quary at the tip of Aliki peninsula, in the south-east of Thassos island, a magical place. The quary has eaten up the real tip of the island over the centuries as the marble was carved out of it. There is a nice path to the quary along the peninsula as well as information boards that can tell you about the history of the place and the manners of extracting marble from ancient Greek times to early Byzantium era. Did not want to erase the date, though I can see how it can be intrusive.
