Photographer's Note

Lake Orestida or Lake Kastoria is a lake in the Kastoria regional unit of Macedonia, northwestern Greece. Sitting at an altitude of 630 meters, the lake covers an area of 28 square kilometers.
Nine rivulets flow into the lake. Its depth varies from nine to ten meters. The Orestida was formed ca. 10 mya ago. The Kastoria Peninsula (with the town of Kastoria) divides the lake into two parts, the larger to the north and the smaller to the south.
The lake takes its name from the Oreiades.

Boats always make great subjects & you have certainly not failed here. The sharpness of the boat will the gulls perching, the reflections of both the boat & the town make this a great photo. Well done Neil

bella composizione, il rosso della barca con il suo riflesso colpisce l'attenzione, ma la parte migliore della foto è quella sopra, con dei riflessi splendidi. Peccato la messa a fuoco sia un pò difettosa.

you've been attracted by the colors: red boat moored in the blue water and the houses walls reflections. But your shot is not sharp enough, and I don't know why because Canon is a good camera!

Η Καστοριά είναι ένας χείμαρρος εικόνων για κάθε ερασιτέχνη κυρίως φωτογράφου, που βιώνει το όνειρό του!
Ο επαγγελματίας είναι δύσκολο να βιώσει με τον ίδιο τρόπο όσα αυτή η πόλη «δίνει» απλόχερα στον επισκέπτη της.
Το χρώμα της βάρκας, αυτό το έντονο κόκκινο, έρχεται σε πλήρη αντίθεση με το μπλε, ενώ η αντανάκλαση του οικισμού στο νερό, εντυπωσιάζει! Η συμμετοχή των πουλιών «ζωντανεύει» το σκηνικό και μπαίνει στο παιχνίδι με επιτυχία!

Να είσαι καλά!

tra le tue ho scovato questa che si fa notare per i ricchi colori dell'imbarcazione oltre che per l'ottima nitidezza. Colpiscono molto anche gli uccelli che si riflettono piacevolmente nell'acqua creando un motivo grafico tra le lievi increspature dell'acqua.
Decisi e saturi, ma senza esagerare, i colori. Nella giusta misura il contrasto.
