A vacation or holiday is a specific trip or journey, usually for the purpose of recreation or tourism. People often take a vacation during specific holiday observances, or for specific festivals or celebrations. Vacations are often spent with friends or family.
A person may take a longer break from work, such as a sabbatical, gap year, or career break.
The concept of taking a vacation is a recent invention, and has developed through the last two centuries. (see Grand Tour) Once the idea of travel and recreation was a luxury of wealthy people alone. In the Puritan culture of early America, taking a break from work for reasons other than weekly observance of the Sabbath, was frowned upon. However, the modern concept of vacation was led by a later religious movement encouraging spiritual retreat and recreation. Great sense of the wind in this thanks to the fluttering of the parasol, and the blue sky is lovely. I can really feel the heat and cool wind from this, really nice capture.

Καλησπέρα Μαρία,
τι όμορφη εικόνα που συνδυάζει τη ζεστασιά του καλοκαιριού με τη μαγεία και μελαγχολία του φθινοπώρου στην παραλία. Το ελλειπτικό σχήμα της ομπρέλλας έχει τοποθετηθεί θαυμάσια μέσα στο κάδρο, οι αντιθέσεις στα χρώματα και τον φωτισμό είναι πάρα πολύ ωραίες και ενδιαφέρουσες. Στα κρόσια της ομπρέλας γίνεται αισθητό και το αεράκι. Συγχαρητήρια και ευχαριστώ!
