Photographer's Note
Florina has remained like a strong imprint in my memory for many reasons. I found the pace of life, particularly in the morning, comforting: people moved slowly, chatted with neighbours, or were sweeping the footpaths in front of their shops, children walked to school (see earlier photo of Florina)rugged up against the morning's nippy freshness. Over the town the morning sun bathed the hills, buildings and streets in its gentle light, while souvlaki shops and bakeries already filled the air with appetizing aromas.
I told my sister about this charming place and a few years later on her way to Yugoslavia she stopped there. It was summer.Unfortunately Florina did not embrace her as it did me.Maybe it was the time of the year that made it special when I visited.
Scanned from B&W film.

Hi Klaudio,
first of all, concerning what you said in your Note about Florina and your sister's perception of it...
You said: "Maybe it was the time of the year that made it special when I visited."
I doubt it was the reason. The reason lies in ourselves, in our own (unique) perception of those places which we visit. It's how you see it and feel it, it's what you see and what you don't notice (some people will notice what ou skipped!)
Some people mind rainy weather or hot summer sun a lot, but vice versa, in such kind of weather others will not notice either rain or heat, they will smell only the freshly baked bread at nearby bakeries... I guess you see my idea :)
Your Note goes very well with this photo of a nostalgic mood and an interesting composition.
Very best wishes from very cold Moscow!

Hi Klaudio
There is a winter feel to this shot with the fog created by the rising sun. Nicely done.

Hi Klaudio,
Very atmospheric photo and note. One of my brothers has been to Florina and he loved it. Last time I went to Albania I saw a lot of cans of soft drinks of various kings with Florina name on them.
