Photographer’s Note

St. Anne's skete in the monastic peninsula of Mount Athos in northern Greece.

A skete is not exactly a monastery, but a cluster of monk cells around a central church. Every monk is independent and the main church is used only for the main Sunday services and feast days. It is like a village of monks.

St. Anne's is situated at the tip of Mount Athos peninsula and it can only reached by foot.
