Photographer's Note

The best and most interesting transfer from a Monastery to another in Mt. Athos is by feet following paths. I took the shot from the path "Monastery of Pantokratora to Stavronikita Monastery", time: 1h, 30 min.

Stavronikita monastery (Greek: Μονή Σταυρονικήτα) is an Eastern Orthodox monastery at the monastic state of Mount Athos in Greece, dedicated to Saint Nicholas. It is built on top of a rock near the sea near the middle of the eastern shore of the Athonite peninsula, located between the monasteries of Iviron and Pantokratoros. The site where the monastery is built was first used by Athonite monks as early as the 10th century. Stavronikita was the last to be officially consecrated as an Athonite monastery in 1536 and ranks fifteenth in the hierarchy of the Athonite monasteries and currently has 30 to 40 monks.

Excellent view, the sense of distance and depth is created by the leaves in the foreground compared to the far away mountains and the castle in between. Very good work, congratulations!

I should enjoy to walk on this path ! The views are splendid , as this one , and the monastery are great points of interest .
This coastal lanscape is very lush and green . I suppose that the climate is very different than in the greek islands .

My next door neighbour today.
An excellent seascape composition with great clean blue sky. The particular angled light on the left frame of the environment makes this image really attractive! Exposure is well managed with good high vantage point taking the eyes through the scene with very good natural framing. The contrast between the clean blue water and the white waves really stands out and lifts this picture. Great depth with the monastery clearly seen on the cliff in the distant but love the glimpse of shine on the water surface, and the small hanging cloud is a plus point. Lovely works, Congrats. TFS

When there is an option of not too long walking I always take it. it would be wonderful to go there, seeing the sea and mo nasteries on the way. Beautiful composition, fantastic view.

Very different of your precedent post but very nice too with this beautiful seascape. The vegetal framing in the FG and the large prospect open give a great depht to the image. Composition well balanced too with the monastery well loacted in the composition.
