This is my first stitched posting. It is impossible go get this with a 28mm lens, this is 3 photos combined with MS DigitalImage suite software, the software did everything, all I did was open files, I still don't understand how it works, so this is best looked at from at least 1m. away. The WS shows a close up of the shipwreck with a 210mm lens.
Taken in the afternoon light, it was warm & sunny on this side of the island while on the other side (Zakynthos town) it was pouring heavy rain with flooded streets. About the location:
Navagio beach (Shipwreck)
The beach of Navagio is the most famous of Zakynthos beaches and one of the most famous of all the Greek beaches. It is the trademark of the island and has been photographed millions of times.
This superb beach is located in the eastern part of the island, close to the Anafotiria village. It was initially called Agios Georgios but the beach owns its new name to the shipwreck (in 1983) of a boat that transported illegal cigarettes; with the years the sand has completely surrounded the ship which looks as if it was emerging of it.

You were pretty lucky to get this famous beach in front of your lens without people I guess... :-) Very nice colours...and a place I would like to be right now... :oP

This combination of pictures is breathtaking. Thanks for the comments.I would appreciate though some toutch ups: Not even colors in the sky above the center mountain and double picture on top of it.

Excellent PoV for this dramatic seascape, the shipwreck is a nice extra detail.

merhaba tan, if i were to define an "absolute beauty" it would be this view: an awesome seascape, an example of perfection and harmony;
very very nice;
cmarino (2490) 2005-06-07 9:34
Beautiful rock formation and sea color.
The POV is superb.

Très très bien ce montage des trois photos, on ne voit aucune rupture. Le spectacle est grandiose, les couleurs très naturelles.
Le panorama vu d'altitude montre beâucoup de cette côte abrupte.
jjbach (9324) 2005-06-07 10:03
Very impressive shot of this wonderful site. Excellent colours and lighting and perfect point of view. As I can can you took this picture in April, so threre is no one in the beach. Wonderful work for one more time!
Roly (2024) 2005-06-07 10:23
I can see how this beach has been photographed millions of times. It probably is a typical postcard, but I haven't seen it yet and I like it. The colors are fantastic. Good stitching job!

Cok guzel bir resim. Birlesik 3 fotograftan olustugu neredeyse anlasilmayacak kadar iyi. Emegine degmis. Denizin rengi cok berrakmis. Workshoptaki gemi iskeleti de olayi tamamliyor. Yunan adalarini gercekten ben de cok merak ediyorum.
nerve (10231) 2005-06-07 11:11

At first sight one would think it's a very small beach with a small wreck on it, but when I look at the WS I see this beach is a little bigger... (picture in WS is also a nice one). Great blue colors, Tan.
sahmay (1375) 2005-06-07 15:17
Tan bey,Excellent colours and composition. Perspective and DOF are also nice. Tebrikler.

AmiBe (6042) 2005-06-07 17:53
very good stitching, but it's the software the master ! ;-)
Mmm, nice view, nice landscape, the beach looks quieter than St-Tropez in Summer.

Hi Tan, i know and i used that miracolous program...and als me...i never understand how it works!
great parnoramic view, with excellent colors.
that bay is a real paradise!
PixelTerror (0) 2005-06-08 4:59
Looks like the stitching has worked well, were that three portrait photos ?
I like here the deepness of the sea colors and the variations as its narrows the beach, the dramatic coastline adds also to the attractivity of this place and the overlooking PoV is just fine to enjoy all this !
Have a nice day,

You did a perfect work combining these three photos. The whole view of this known beach is really impressive. You get it from a very good POV. This one belongs to the most beautiful seascapes I have seen here in TE! The WS is also very good captured with a beautiful composition having the ship covered by the sand and with the natural X made by the limit of the sand and sea with the shadow line.
Best regards Tan.

coco (30439) 2005-06-09 17:20
I only have seen this place in photos, but I love this place. I could not imagine that really there were three pictures here.
Anyway, good job.
bazal (7900) 2005-06-13 3:06
Nice shot of this so famous beach (maybe the most famous on Zakynthos, and probably one of the most famous in Greece with Myrthos beach). Nice light, superb colors, but the sharpness could be better (scan problems ?) and then the textures could be also nicer. Nice DOF. Superb shot, anyway, thanks for sharing.
anakin (2775) 2005-06-13 14:26
Yes yes yes it is a lovely place...greece is great, beautiful and really good perspective, from this original beach.

Excellent shot Tan, great use of the digital darkroom in stitching your shots. Iv done this many times myself to good effect. Composition on final image is excellent showing nice foreground detail to frame the shot. Well done
sleon (9402) 2005-06-15 5:34
Another stunning view - wonderful colours and composition. The stitching seems to have caused some slight blurring in places but nevertheless this scores top marks from me!
sayzey (2358) 2005-06-20 21:19
Just perfect even down to the timing, no people!!! Just amazing!!!!
mumek (20202) 2005-06-27 19:51

These stitched photos seem to work really well. This has an extrordinary sense of space helped by the vertical column on the left. The colour,as always in this corner of the earth,is fantastic.I must look into this photo stitching as the results you have achieved are really quite amazing
donluicu (24724) 2005-07-22 8:04
the point of view is great, so the colors are...here and there we see lacks of quality..may be due to the stitching process.
good work there, it almost perfect.
CoolDan (2516) 2005-07-22 15:27
Le montage est très bien réussi et le résultat nous montre un magnifique endroit. Le panorama est superbe.

Many times I've come across this photo, but have not written a word. I should have done that before. This is one of the most marvellous photo's I've seen from the shipwreck. The long distance and great POV behind the cliffs on the left is unique. Most shots, such as my own shots from this location aswell, are taken from the platform above the beach. I see you have been walking around more for the perfect spot. The warm evening light creates a lovely mood, I wish I saw the place around sunset time! This way you see many details in the sea, the long shadows on the scene are charming.
Good stitchwork, also taking into account that you have taken this photo in 2002 with a digital camera! Both software and camera's we're less advanced back then.
Very well composed with the cliffs on the left, some foreground and the cliffs behind the shipwreck roughly @ 1/3th from above. I'm jeaulous on this one.

A It look like a nice place. The stitch is good, perhaps only weakness on upper sky part with colour change. What is lmore disturbating is the ilmpression of lack of sharpness on the see, left part.
Any way still pleasant to look at.
