Photographer's Note
Olive trees are one of the most characteristic elements of Mediterranean landscape. In the springtime its delicate branches are cover by small white flowers, in the winter they are burdened by the bitter tasting fruits which become brownish when the first rains start - it is a sign for the harvest.
Olive tree grows very slowly and can bear some fruit after 5 years, but can also live very long - even up to 2000 years.
Olives are apparently the most often mentioned fruit in litearature. And no wonder, since it has been always a real treasure. It guaranteed wealth and even social position. For cutting an olive tree in ancient Greece one could be either executed or banished.

Hi Kamila
love this! A glimpse of Greece outside the tourist season and so beautiful. Dafodils in January and vibrant greens are striking enough but it is the atmosphere and the trees that make it so special. Superb and original imagery!
Have a great weekend - Brian.
My dafodils have gone back under ground here on the south coast of England, it has been so cold in the last 2 weeks.

A well composed shot. i like the fact that the predominant colours of the pallette in this shot are black and green - just like olives. One of my favourite foods - especially stuffed with garlic, or white feta cheese. i could eat them all day long!

Hi Kamila,
There is a beautiful fantasy feeling to your shot, this scene would fit perfectly in any classic fantasy tale such as lord of the rings, or a fairy tale. The frame is filled perfectly with the strange shaped trunks of those trees. Beautify splash of colour from the flowers too, a really nice and pleasant scene.
All the best

Kalimera Kamila,
Mild winter light prevailing and gave a unique texture to the Olive-trees forest.
An adorable depth through the green grass on ground, and a lovely yellow flowers near the one tree on left.
The colors convey a perfect cool ambiance, and picture applied with exquisit clarity. Pleasent to look at.
Cheers,
Ike

Hello Kamila, I also have several pictures taken of these century old trees and I love them all!
This is a very special picture for the fact that on the bottom left is showing a "manousaki"flower blooming which was my beloved mother's favorite flower!
A very beautiful and attractive picture!
Have a great evening,

Hello Kamila,
Great point of view, light management and
composition and the picture has a very
nice fairytale atmosphere. Little details
like the flowers on the forground are
great choices: it's a nice break between
the green ground and it emphasize extra
the depth.

Hi Kamila
I have to say, I'm not a huge fan of tree photos, but there is something very attractive about this scene.
it makes the scene more effective how you left out the skyline, I like that.
and the large dark brown tree trunks stand out in great contrast color wise.
smart shot! really enjoyed viewing it
cheers

Hi Kamila,
I love olive trees in Mediterranean countries, so I agree entirely with what you say in your note ! Olive trees are so invaluable for different reasons, not forgetting the health the fruit brings to people.
I love landscapes planted with olive trees and yours is particularly attractive, with the very old specimens giving a sort of subdued atmosphere !
I love the humble, little bunch of narcissus telling us spring is coming.
I wonder what the netting tunnels are there for .
Thanks for sharing and best regards.
Marie-Louise.
