Agios Spirydon Church, a photo from Lefkada, Ionian Islands

Photographer's Note

Agios Spirydon church is located right at the main square in Lefkada town. It was built at the end of 17th century and bears some venetian influence.
I chose quite tight frame for very next to this building there is really horrible kiosk, which I preferred to cut off.

hai fatto una bella foto nella quale l'accostamento tra il campanile e il profilo del cancello costituiscono una composazione piacevole. Belli i colori che esaltano il grigio della pietra.
Un'altra delle tue belle foto che esaltano le bellezze della Grecia.

Contraste intéressant avec la façade de l'église est très belle .

This close view of this bell tower shows us many interesting details . The framing and the angle of view are excellent . And i like especially the contrast provided by the dark iron gate in the FG .

Hello Kamila,
Although this is a fairly plain view you manage to get a picture of very high quality. You have handled the light perfectly and the colours, sharpness and contrasts are all admirable. I like the inclusion of the elegant gate in the foreground, and although the green building to the left isn't really beautiful its colour matches those of the church perfectly. At least I am sure you did well to get rid of that kiosk.

il cancello con le linee verticali, spinge lo sguardo verso l'alto e contrasta con la torre campanaria che a sua volta spinge ancor di più verso il cielo, il tutto avvalorato dal taglio verticale.

HOwdy Kamila,

Your Spirydon bell tower architecture is very similar to the Spanish mission works built in California during the 18th century. And a bonus with the metal gate for contrast.

Maybe the kiosk worked in your favour, for the tight angle gives us a fine close-up of the wrought iron gate, which then acts as a good lead to the bell tower. The composition is very pleasing.

You just seem to have that very keen eye for a scene like this. This looks elegant, the well crop of architectural shot of highly decorative bell tower creates an excellent visual aspect as main focal. This a wonderful find you have really brought out so much out of this. I reckon you excell at this type of photography and think you've done a fine job under the circumstances.
