Photographer’s Note

This picture was taken from above the beach of Egremni, in the isle of Lefkada, Greece.
Lefkada is an isle in the ionian sea, linked to the mainland by a bridge. The most touristic sites are on the east of the isle, but we followed the Guide De Routard suggestions and we stayed on the western side, where the beaches are BY FAR better, and the landscape is more wild and untouched. Egremni belongs to a very long stretch of white sandy beaches, (several Kilometers long) which has several point of access by some dusty but well kept roads.

Concerning the picture, I am not sure if it is better with or without the out of focus bush. I decided to keep it in, as it gives some depth to the image, but I also like without it. I don't know. What do you think ?

Thats beautiful and an absolute delight to watch! I lvoe the vastness and the way its beec aptured. the love lady and the etxtures and hues of th water are superbly crafted and captured. great one

Well, I miss this feeling - floating on the surface of the see in one hidden small bay...
Impressive realisation, I like the pale shadow of the lady on the sea-bed.

prima ancora di leggere la tua nota mi stavo già domandando anch'io se non fosse meglio escludere il cespuglio. E la mia risposta, meditata, è sì. Per valorizzare al meglio la splendida tonalità dell'acqua e lasciare la donna fluttuante come unico centro di attenzione della foto.

Hi Stefano,

To answer your question from my opinion, I would rather like this bush to be in focus, cause here it is small and the only blurry subject in the photo. Besides that the bush, due to its branches and flowers offers quite some detail, and when this is out of focus..it is not that attractive if you ask me. The bush in the photo is great, but for me it would be better if it was in focus. Besides that, very good composition, nice minimalistic with the bush and the lonely floating woman. Good colours, very fine blue tones! Well done, the black border fits okay too.

Hi Stefano, hmmm difficult to choose, i've noticed 3 pictures in your last 6 that really speak to me. I pick this one cause this has really an impact on my eyes : minimalism at sea, great idea and execution, the blue is really impressive and the position of the woman is perfect.
I think this would have been even greater without the thing (flower) in foreground, ok ok that gives a clue of where was your POV but perhaps bother a little bit the watcher of this shot.
Without it we could have thought to a gigantic swmming pool :)

Hello Stefano,
this is the trademark of Greece scenery. Wonderful blue sea. The shot produced here is great composition. The floater in red is stunning. But I think if you leave out the blurred bush I think it will give a better impact. Make it follow the rules of the third.
But whatever it is, this shot is gorgeous.
