This is the beach of Agios Nikitas, Lefkada after sunset time. We made a day trip to Lefkada's mountainous area's, ending the day on the westcoast. To see the sun set in the sea. We we're a bit late and rushed to this beach to see it, unfortunatly it was allready gone, but the afterglow was still there. This afterglow can be seen in the WS!
For this shot I stabilized the camera on some rock..as rocks are not always perfect flat the result was a slanting image, but ofcourse I rotated it to straigth in PP.
The theme, rocks in front with sea etc in the back is done a lot before, I haven't mastered it yet, but still would like to share this result with you. Maybe you have some hints for the next time, cause I like this theme a lot. Lower ISO and/or narrower aperture would help I bet.
Just hope you still like something in there.
[Some info about Nikitas]
Agios Nikitas Lefkada: Agios Nikitas is a lovely fishing village 12 kilometres west from Lefkada Town which has become one of the lost popular holiday resorts of the island. It offers a large range of accommodations, taverns, cafes, bars, shops; a small family beach and a golden sandy beach with emerald waters are extending in front of Agios Nikitas. The popularity of the village is also due to the fact that it is close to some of the best beaches of Lefkada.
[the above is from the web]
In the evening there are no car's or motor's allowed in the center of the village, so you can have a very peaceful dinner and walk through the village. When you start the walk you start in the upperpart of the village and will slowly descend to the beach. It's a nice walk, there's authentical architecture there. The climb up is pretty touch if not in a good condition ;)

Not only by day, even by night you seem to be crazy with photography. This is something we have in common.
Excellent mood you captured!
PS: Use if possible a smaller font size for your copyright, otherwise the strong contrast takes a lot of attention away from your main theme of your photo :-)

I was about to wonder at what it would have been like at a lower ISO with a longer exposure but then I read the comments about the sharpness of the rocks and I bet that is right on .. did you try it with a bunch of different exposures or just this one?
I also wonder what it would be like with a POV nearer one of those immersed rocks ..
I am a sucker for deep blues ..

Very good, Emiel, this blue realm is excellently captured, and the stones are really beautiful and so sharp for a 3 sec exposure. Your shots make my desire to discover Greece stronger and stronger!

Those rocks are rocking! Splendid detail and the light to die for! The shore line is carefully placed in the frame. Well done, my mate!

I like the theme. the lights really add a lot of meaning to the photo and composition. eventhough at first rocks take much attention then comes the lights and nearly dark sky.
it s not a long beach but i m sure people may swim there too

when I see a photo from Lefkada I remember many things. Especially Agios Nikitas is a wonderful place for sunsets. Here, I can see cars coming from the town of Lefkada. The movement of water is the most interesting thing here and it is nicely presented. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes,
