Photographer's Note

Sidari (24 miles from Kerkyra) has beautiful sandy beach and very warm shallow water. Its finest feature is the striking rock formations that rise out of the sea at its western end.

The striated sandstone here is continually carved by the wind and the sea into sandy coves with caves and ledges (some of which are very good for diving).

The most famous formations is the Canal d'Amour. Legend has it that any woman who wades or swims through this narrow channel when the water was in shade will win the man of her dreams.

From Sidari boat trips run to the three small islands lying northwest of Kerkyra, Mathraki, Erikòussa and Othonì, famous for their fishing grounds.

Hi Stella,
I find this a very good capture of a lovely landscape. What attracts me most are the colours. Very nice green and blue tones with some yellow of the flowers. The composition is also very good. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Stella,

Your images of Kerkyra have served as a compelling travelogue. In this sun-parched and sand covered land, the green shrubbery adds a nice highlight. Of course, the turquoise color of the sea makes a heavenly backdrop. The ws you provided is also very good, and with a little bit of post-processing could have made an excellent post. I did a minor bit of color post-processing — a ws on your ws. I hope you don't regard it as meddling. have a good weekend,

nice shot nice corner of this 'yellow' region of Corfu.The small beach with turquoise waters make the scene so interesting.I think that the place is a little discontiguous or not? Informative your note too.

The light and the colors is this that makes your photo, pleasure for the eyes.
When I saw your photo I thought that you made it in summer time because of the warm yellow color, and not in March. But thus is to our countries. Warm nice light and colors even in the middle of winter.
