Gymnasium In Sami II
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Hi all,
Inspired by iGirl concerning my shot here I provide you another shot of this Gymnasium in Sami, Kefalonia. It was time for another architecture shot I think.
This shot is taken with a lower POV, so you can see the curves of the mountain in the background. I think the exposure on this one is less good, due to direct sunlight..but well let's see what you think.
I liked the schools colours and the abandoned feeling.
Map info available, you can clearly see the school!
[PP] Started with Lens Correction, (correcting mainly horizontal perspective). Couldn't get the lines real straigth unfortunatly.
Again I did a crop so that a border is created by the walls, ground and ceiling of the school's entrance.
Further PP
* Shadow/Highlight reduce a few percent
* Color Balance
* Saturation
* 140% USM, 0,4px, treshold 0
* Resize and
* again USM 50%, 0,3px treshold 1

I don't know why exactly, but this shot is very interesting to me. Maybe, it's the abandoned feeling that you mention in your note. I think it also has to do with your POV. It looks like a very hot day, but we are in the shade, which is nice. I like how the archway frames the shot too. Good job with the PP.

Ryan

Hi Emiel!
Not only did you manage to show the mountains, but also the view inside the frame is deeper. You lookd to the right and created the line leading deep.
Well done!
Seb
Hi Emiel,
Superb,I realy like composition.Geometric shape with solid color of architecture make photo very interesting and the best thing is foreground shade fill the perfection for this photo.Good point of view.
