Photographer's Note

One more shot from the small mountain town of Metsovo (view also the note in the "Three old ladies" posting two days ago). The guy is dressed with the traditional costume of the area. In his shop he is selling local products as honey, cheese, wine and a local home made pasta (hilopites). Suppose that all his products are "home made" thus the name "tseligas" which means "the chief shepherd"...
The pose is a classic one of the men in this area, with serious face and a bit of frowing, which is unchanged for the last 4 centuries at least:-). The character of the mountain people in Greece - as everywere in the world - is completely different than the sea side people. They are harder and less smiling than the more open and smiling sea side population.

Photo transformed in B&W, light sepia tone added in PS.
